A tip for XJ owners and others by
Budd Cochran[_2_]
Last week I had a thumping noise coming from under my 88 XJ and thought the
weird (and expensive ... if you can find one) transmission mount for the
BA10/5 transmission had finally bit the dust.
Rather, I found the metric crossmember-to-unibody bolts for the driver's
side were stripped! Some...

1997 TJ Sahara Ragtop bought new, still driven. Replacement? (See inside) by
rock_bustin
Howdy Folks,
I have a '97 TJ Sahara still going strong but mighty banged up over
the years.
2011 may be the year I replace it with- what other Jeep? Suggestions?
I have been over the web-site but I'm just wondering how Regulars here
feel
about all the choices out now that weren't there 13 years...

Which is a better XJ, 2000 or 2001? by
F. T. Speak
I just sold my beloved '96 XJ, and I'd like to replace it with a newer
XJ, such as a low-mileage 2001, same great style as my 1996, but with
more up-to-date features.
This will be a daily driver, not often off-road, just occasionally on
the beach and the sandy backroads here in Central...

Panic stop--why? by
Jack Myers
Yesterday I'm cruising along at 35 mph, the light ahead changes, and
I gradually brake for a stop. Suddenly, when I'm about 15 feet from
the car ahead, it's like the brakes fade. I press the brake pedal
as hard as I can and the Jeep finally stops and I feel a clunk like
the transmission as just...

5W vs 10W oil by
ps56k[_2_]
While our Jeep is sitting ready for our snowy & cold Chicago weather,
I took my son's 2004 Impala LS in for a local shop oil change...
The records show he has been using a 10W high mileage oil - 92k -
However, the engine cap & manual indicate 5W should be used.
In surfing, it appears that 10W is...

95 XJ inside door handle by
Lee Ayrton[_3_]
First really really cold morning here in RI I had some trouble with my
electric door locks. Meh, I kinda expect that. What I didn't expect was
the *spring* *clatter-clatter-clatter* inside my driver's side door when
I pulled the door handle. The handle still works, but the return spring
has...

ASC sunroof on '91' XJ? by
Doug2
Thanks to DougW I finally resolved my issue between
my sunroof and pwr. antenna (which were both tapped
from the same fuse on the fuse panel). I tracked down
the pwr. antenna relay (which is below the glove box,
on the passenger side and behind the dash panel there
and disconnected the leads...

Is there any way to block insane idiots like this . . .
so that these messages don't display?
There must be some way to keep that crap out of this forum.

Brake light mystery by
Jeep Guy[_2_]
99 JGC. If I step on the brake pedal, both left and right rear brake lights
work fine. However, when I turn on the headlights (tail lights work fine)
and step on the brake, my left rear light completely goes out (both the tail
light and brake light are off). Any ideas on what's wrong?
I know...
