Mini-Van Conversions? by
Tyler Durden
I was surfing on the GTRV yahoo group and saw a Dodge Caravan converted
into a full camper with a pop-top. I'm not a mini-van guy, but the
Toyota Sienna is a solid, fuel-efficient, AWD vehicle that I think
could potentially offer enough room for a beautiful camper conversion.
My questions: Does...

Land Cruiser Power Steering Hoses by
Fred
I need to get a fluid pressure hose made for my 82 BJ60 (diesel
wagon). Can anyone tell me how to describe the end fittings to the
supplier? They look like maybe 13mm flare or compression fitting.
I'm installing power steering on a wagon that didn't have it before.
The lines I got with the pump...

Winter tires by
pjjohnsen[at]hotmail.com
I am running the Michelin Artic Alpin 4x4 on my 2001 Pathfinder SE
(3.5L w/ 5 speed). Here is my review after one full winter:
Good tire in dry (quiet - much more so than the stock Toyo's). They
do walk a little in pitted out highway situations and over metal grated
bridges. This is expected...

Overfilled Oil by
Spiderman
I think the shop slightly overfilled my oil crankcase at the last oil change
on my 1989 Chevy S10 Blazer 4.3L 4x4....the dipstick is reading "off the
charts" and when I'm parked I get a small drip of very watery brown fluid (I
assume it's overfrothed oil) under the engine compartment. The fluid is...

2001 Suburban K1500 rear end by
Dave Bell
Blown... Pretty well completely.
I got nudged, sitting in the line at a light last week. Got out, saw
there was no damage, waved the idiot off. When I got back in, the light
had changed, traffic had cleared in front, and I started up in a hurry.
Pulled into Drive and hit the gas. One rear wheel...

Tight fit drop in bedliner by
dlrider
I am looking for a drop-in under-the-rail bed liner for a 2005 Dodge
Ram 1500 short bed (4 door). I want it to fit tight and flush with the
sides so that the cleats are usable without access holes in the liner.
I want a reasonably thick liner but not necessarily interested in
no-skid. I am not...

4x4 Camper Van by
Tyler Durden
I get out of the Army in a year and my wife and I plan to do nothing
more than travel around the country visiting friends and blowing some
savings. I've been kinda caged up in a uniform for 8 years, and it's
time to decompress and get a little perspective. I envision the camper
we travel in as...

GMC Sonoma (1999) 4-wheel drive problem by
jwiles58
Can anyone give me a brief synopsis of how the 4-wheel drive works in a
1999 GMC Sonoma? Are the front axles engaged all the time? Are there
hubs to be locked, or automatic? Is there something (solenoid) that
engages the front differential to the axles? Is this operated by electric
or vacuum? ...

Leaking moonroof in '04 Expedition by
[email protected]
I have a brand new two day old '04 Expedition with a moonroof. We live
in Seattle, and it's been raining hard. The day after we bought the
car, we walked outside to find (a lot of) water dripping from the
convenience lights in the second row of the car. There was a
substantial amount of water in...

Overfilled Oil (Part 2): Weeping Remote Oil Filter Lines by
Spiderman
This is a follow-up to the infamous "Overfilled Oil" post. Of course it
turned out that the oil was only slightly overfilled so it was no problem.
However, while probing around I discovered that the remote oil filter lines
are weeping very slowly where the rubber hoses are crimped to the...
