Oloja by Visa Rajala
M.T.09.05-08.Tanskan insinööriliitossa uskotaan uusiutuvaan energiaan "Energiasuunnitelma 2030"- nimisen raportin (ES). Sen tekoon osallistui 1 600 insinööriä ja muita energia-asiantuntijoita. ES:stä sijoitukset uudisenergiaan ovat ekologisesti ja taloudellisesti hyvin perusteltuja. Samoin...

2003 Accord Radio Display Problem by Mike
I love my 2003 Accord EX. But I have a problem that the dealer says will only cost me about $1000 to fix. Last week my radio display just went dark - couldn't see anything - no climate information, time, radio stations, etc. Nothing. The unit continued to work OK - I can still play the radio...

88 civic starter problem? by Jeremy
hey folks... have had an 88 civic DX 4 door manual transmission for about a year now, it has treated me well for the most part (apart from an aggravating hot start issue that switching out the main relay did NOT fix, much to my surprise). anyway, 2 days ago it started turning over very slowly when...

another grease question: bolt threads by Abeness
I can use a touch of just any old grease to lube bolt threads, right? E.g. the bolts attaching the slave cylinder to the tranny. Or should I avoid this so as to lessen the risk of over-tightening them? I do plan to use a torque wrench. While I'm careful, I sure don't want to run the risk of...

Marvel Mystery Oil by [email protected]
I've heard good things about Marvel Mystery Oil. Just curious how it works since you can put it in the oil and gasoline tanks and does it work well still with newer cars, I have 05 Civic. Also, what's the best time to put it in like early/middle/late life of oil for oil. And for gasoline empty tank...

Enable DRL on 2005 US Spec CR-V? by RWM
Is there an OEM relay, say from a Canadian spec CR-V, that can enable a DRL function on a US spec car? How about best aftermarket kit to burn the high beams at reduced voltage as DRLs? Thx. - RWM

2008 Honda Civic Ex Maintenance Schedule by Avalon1178
Hi, I recently bought a new 2008 Honda Civic Sedan EX after my older model (2005) was totalled during a car accident. I'm still getting used to the new car but so far so good. One big big change with the new car is what appears to be the absence of a maintenance schedule. I'm used to going to the...

More on the bailout by Rock Hardson
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/12/19/AR2008121903675.html?hpid=topnews I suspect once the US auto industry gets on a level field the foriegn companies may be in for an ass kicking.

ECM stolen! 1994 Civic EX KA5MT by abeness
I can hardly believe it. 1994 Civic EX, 17 years old, and a professional thief hit it. Stole the aftermarket stereo (who cares!) but then my wife tried to start the car and couldn't. I got down there and found the ECM was gone, gone, GONE. Dude just unplugged it, though, from the looks of...

2006 Hondas by MAT
I just read over at www.vtec.net about the 06 Accord 6MT sedan, the vigorous trim lines for 06 Civic and with the Jazz coming, I think Honda is making some cool moves for 06! Pretty cool, huh.

And yet even more on the legendary Honda failing transmissions--Honda won't let you buy a new one on your own by Elmo P. Shagnasty
Some of you know about my 2002 Odyssey with 73K miles and its failed transmission, and American Honda's "generous" offer to pay 50% toward the cost of replacing it. And, of course, you know my feelings on the subject. Anyway, I dropped the van off yesterday. In talking with the service...

Burning Oil by Elle[_4_]
1993 Civic DX, 197k miles. Purchased in July 2008, with me as second owner. In March 2009 it started burning/losing oil at about a half- quart per 600 miles. -- Several times over the last couple of months I have thoroughly inspected the areas of the usual seals: dizzy o-ring, front crank and cam...

Bummer - removed tire 1 wk after tire store put it on... snapped off the threads on one of the wheel studs by Nick
This is a common occurrence at any tire place. A lot of places use an air gun and do not care if the bolt is on properly or not and also do not torque the bolts to the proper specs of each manufaturer. I used to take my cars to this one tire place, and after having them strip 2 for 2 of my cars I...

U.S. $3500-4500 cash for clunkers program by [email protected]
I think this is only for >10 year old cars/trucks? "Under the so-called cash-for-clunkers legislation, consumers with old, gas guzzlers could get $3,500 or $4,500 in government vouchers to use toward the purchase of new cars that get gas mileage that exceeds the old car's by four miles per...

spark plug wires: old but under 10kOhms by chibitul
Hi, I just check the spark plug wires on my newly purchased 1997 Civic: they are from 1997, probably the OEM wires, and they all measured under 10kOhms. I will also look tonight with the engine running to see if I notice any "sparks" around the wires, but I was wondering if I should replace those...

How good is the Civic Si in snow? by alfred
Hello, Before I consider any and all Hondas for my next car, I have to know about snow traction. I live in New England and that is a fact of life. I understand that you can get the Civic Si with the standard M&S tires instead of the summer only. I know the car has 6spd MT and ABS/EBD/VSA and...

Fixing a mutilated power window door frame. 89 Accord Honda. by Burt Squareman
The driver side power window works fine for years but recently it will roll up halfway and stop. In an attempt to get it up (in the pouring rain) I rock the switch quickly while pulling the window up by hand. This was not a good idea. An inch of the door frame that hold the bolts are gone. The door...
