Alfa GT - Alfatex quality control problems? by
Grahame
Hi All,
I went to my local showroom to order a new GT in Sterling Gret metallic with
the Light Grey Alfatex and black/grey dash (UK colour code 127).
Turns out that although this option is in the brochures, Alfa are no longer
offering this colour combination as an option.
As an alternative, I...

Alfa GT Pictures by
PhilipS
Hi everyone,
Currently at the exciting pre-purchase phase, in the 147 to Gt coupe
upgrade!
Does anyone know of any pictures on the web of the GT with the
optional (in the UK at least) 17" 5 hole alloys.
All of the publicity pictures are with the optional 18" spokes, the
ones in the brochure seem...

Access denied! (Bloody bonnet release) by
Hughes.
Trying to get under the bonnet of my 156 to check the coolant level and oil I
had a handful of nothing when I pulled the bonnet release.
I had a look at the lever and when I pulled it I could hear a little click. I
undid the two allen bolts so I could get a better look, but nothing appears to
be...

156 and LPG by
drut
Good Evening Alfa lovers
I have read recently a post about mid 90 Alfas and LPG installation - now I
can see this is possible and even works! My car (May 2002 AR 156 1.8 TS
140BHP) is equipped with Tartarini ETAGAS LPG installation - a very bad
combination (bad refers to Tartarini, not Alfa!). It...

156 JTS modding by
Gareth Tuckwell
OK, I bought my 156 2.0JTS about 18 months ago now. I recently subscribed to
this newsgroup and I noticed a few people's signatures mention mods they
obviously have applied to their cars. I don't anything about mods, but once
the car is out of the Alfa waranty, it is something I would like...

Alfa GT Servicing & running costs by
Vic Wolyncevic
Hello,
I'm in Australia. The Alfa GT has come out last month
and the only version we get is the V6 which is the one
that I'm really after anyhow.
I was speaking to my current, (non dealer), Alfa
mechanic and he told me that the service costs will be
rather steep. For example he said that around...

Ferrari / Alfa news by
Alfistagj
This story came up the last few weeks and is becoming more and more a real
option.
Ferrari is the be an independent company (the will leave the FIAT group).
They will take Alfa (and Maserati??) with them.
Alfa will become Ferrari's high volume money maker.
Target will be to sell/produce twice as...

Selespeed - a Good Thing? Opinions Please by
Jake
I've finally decided it's time to own an Italian car, and the 156 seems to
fit the bill, in either 2 or 2.5 litre form. I've got about 6-7 grand to
spend, so I guess '99 - 2000 models are the ones on the agenda.
However, for various reasons a clutch pedal is not desirable ... I
understand the 156...

156 color code by
Jari Nirvinen
I thought to try fix some minor scratches myself. But there is no color code
label anywhere in the trunk. My 'users manual' in french and looking at
pictures there is should be. Now how to determine the color?

Servicing 156 by
Graeme Cosgrove
The 36K service is due on my 2.0 156, and I have noted that there is some
variance over the timing belt issue.
The dealer (Caledonia in Preston), has given me a price of £360 for the
service, but told me that they only "check" the belt, as it is replaced at
the 76K service. If I "wanted" to have...

Trip to France and back in my AR 166 2.5 V6 by
DJ
What a great car ! - I have just completed about 1500 miles to France and
back for my hols. On the autoroutes , etc I set the cruise control to about
136KM and got about 28MPG over a 1000 miles - pretty good going considering
the car was fully loaded with suitcases, etc plus 4 people - over...

156 2.0TS hot start problem by
edster
Hi,
My car (156 2.0TS, yr 2000, 50000mls) has a problem starting when hot
(i.e after it has been running for a while). It started happenning a
few weeks ago and seems to be getting worse. Once it cools down, it
starts fine, and it runs perfectly when hot. It just won't start again
if I shut it...

What are mid 90's Alfas like on LPG? by
MeatballTurbo
As the time to actually buy a new car approaches, I just an inredible
thought. While the Saab has to go, period, I could get something with an
equally juicy engine if it could be run on LPG.
While I said before, no V6's because of economy, maybe that wouldn't be
the case if it could safely and...

little annoyance I HOPE by
Doug
Can anyone suggest someone who can sort out scratches on the paint work and
minor scuffs on the bodywork of my 156 TS. Love the car but think the paint
work is a pile of pants, and want to her look her best.
Thanks in advance

Difficulty selecting reverse by
John
I sometimes (often) find it hard to get my '98 156 V6 into reverse.
Am I going to be on the end of a big bill for a new gearbox soon ?
Previous owner had reversing sensors (bleeps when you get too close)
fitted - is there any way this could have screwed anything up ?
thanks
