Arse.... that's 3 of 4 cars down at the moment! by
SteveH[_2_]
Prius was pranged by a clumsy van driver a few weeks back, so that's in
to be repaired this week.
The Cinquecento track slag is currently away undergoing the
transformation from shopping trolley to said track slag.
Which left me with the 75.
Got it out on Saturday, washed / polished / twiddled...

Note to self by
Catman
If it has been raining, it is not wise to open the driver's window, so
one might wave to one's wife just prior to making a left hander.
All the water *will* slide off the roof and into the car.

Giulietta Pricing by
SteveH[_2_]
Doesn't look *too* bad compared with the opposition.
In fact, it looks very strong compared with Ford and VW.
Can someone explain why the hell my company wants to fob us off with
nearly £20k worth of Focus 'Econetic', when you can get a Giulietta
1.6JTD Lusso for around a grand less?
(The...

156 washer woes... by
Jim[_32_]
Right, this is starting to get to me! I realise it isn't a big deal
compared to some things that can happen to Alfa owners but it's got my
goat. The washers on my 156 are, and always were, shocking. If you aim
the jets where you would really prefer the water on the screen the wiper
blade is in...

156 sidelight bulbs by
R C Nesbit
OK, I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but the 156
(facelift) has a blown front right/offside/drivers side
bulb, and just to add to the fun, the same front
right/offside/drivers side indicator bulb has also gone
AWOL.
Had a quick look-see tonight, in between hail/monsoon
showers, and...

New Giulietta by
SteveH[_2_]
Just flicking through Auto Italia, which arrived this morning.
Looks very nice in metallic red with pimp-tints.
I'd love a QV, but I can see us settling for the 170bhp 1.4 Multi-Air
Turbo in Lusso spec in around, erm, 2014....
Seriously good looking car - the front end looks right on the red...

I don't like this wine by

My 2002 156 2.0jts...
Don't know if the TSparks do this, or if anyone else has even noticed this,
but I can 'hear' when the oil is low: I get a whining noise just as the oil
level falls below the dipstick - it usually needs a pint or so and the whine
goes away. It has always done this from new,...

Alfa 156 JTD by
Jim[_47_]
Feels like an itch that needs to be scratched, I've always loved the look of
the 156 and always fancied a 2.4 JTD - and would suit me best in Sportwagon
form. Currently using a 320d which never breaks down, nor ever had a fault
in over 50k miles. Am I mad to consider one!?
I have a beady eye on...

What's going on with used values? by
SteveH[_2_]
Started to have thoughts about replacing the 'wagon with something else.
Looked towards the 159 and GT....
But it appears that residuals are almost BMW-matching these days!
The world has gone mad.

Bypassing Cat Convertor by
Malcolm Osborne
My 156 2.0 TS is of 1999 vintage, with 275 000 Km on the clock.
I'm sure the catalytic convertor in the exhaust system provides little more
than back pressure these days. A replacement would be too expensive.
Our local regs do not insist on these things (though most new cars do have
them).
Has...

gtv cambelt by
davewright01
Hi group
I've got a 2004 GTV 3.2 24v which has done 16,000 miles - I know
it's a waste - and yesterday it sailed through its MOT + annual
service. The dealer says I need a cambelt change because of its age
but despite the low mileage. What do you guys say ?
Thnks Dave

1.9 JTD 156 Cambelt(s) by
Jim[_32_]
My brother and I bought a pair of 156's four and a half years ago. Mine
has done 35000 and his 66000. We purchased new cambelts, tensioners,
idlers and water pumps and set about changing them yesterday. All went
well and it's as easy as we were led to believe. The only noteworthy
observation...

Headlight adjustment by

OK, I give in - where is it? Need to adjust vertical beam - higher please!

the central bulb connection and I've tried the white hexagonal plastic
adjuster thingy behind and below the central bulb wiring connection, but...
