2011 5L weighs almost 3900lbs by Rich
But an all aluminum block weighs about 125lbs. Good place to start. The 5L can apparently crack the 12's with some minor mods and good tires. Imagine what it would be like at 3100 lbs?

REQ: advice on '65 coupe restomodding by Andrew
Hi everyone, After years of slugging away at an old 6-banger and fixing this and fixing that, I have made up my mind... I am getting it restomodded. The car isn't special enough to warrant a restoration and keeping it original, and I drive it regularly enough during the summer that I...

Changes I'd Make To The 2011 GT by NoOp[_2_]
As good as the new 2011 5-liter GT Mustang is what changes would you like to see in future versions? I'll start. Weight: (Disclaimer -- It could weigh 3,200 pounds and I'd like to see 3,000; 3,000 and I'd like to see it under 3,000, etc.) But the current 3,600 is too chunky. Pony cars, IMO,...

Don't expect the 2011 V6 to last very long by Rich
Is it true you have to rev it up to 6500 to get full HP and/or torque? Isn't that people stay away from ricers? So they don't end up having to do ring jobs every 15k?

Ford vehicles in general - my blatherings by dickr2
I think Ford is doing a lot of things right! I purchased a 2010 Ford Flex in January that I'm very pleased with. It's not quite a car or SUV and shares the same platform as the Taurus and 2011 Explorer. I saw many Flexes on a recent trip to the South and SE US. but I don't see many up here in the...

Ford limits 2011 Shelby GT500 to 5500 units by JLA
From AB We've just gotten off the horn with Ford's SVT performance division, and we've learned that the Blue Oval's hot-rod arm is going to limit production of the 2011 Shelby GT500 to 5,500 units for this model year. According to Ford spokesman Henry Platts, the move is not the result of slow...

T-Frog, Your New V8 LX May Be In The Pipeline by NoOp[_2_]
Seems the subject of a V8 LX Mustang keeps popping up. Word is Ford has been giving serious consideration to a de-contented 5-liter in six-cylinder trim. Lets keep our fingers crossed! Patrick
