Fuel gauge problem solved (not gauge) by
Karls Vladimir Peña
Hi RAMVA!
A few days ago I posted about running out of gas while the gauge showed
about half a tank. Well, It was not the gauge that was wrong, not the
vibrator either. Aparently I had large pieces of debris in the tank that
sometimes clogged the outlet and made the bug run out of fuel.

Idea about how to find TDC- Do Not Use The Pencil Method
Today I attempted the pencil method of finding TDC for No. 1 cylinder.
Well, the pencil broke off and now I have to remove the head to get the
broken pencil and wooden chips out.
But that is OK, since I was wanting to replace the push rod...

Tony Bennett
....to use in a restoration where all of the brake parts are brand new.
Should I stick to the old type which needs regular changing, or go for the
newer silicon based fluid. 1972 Type 1 front disc rear drum.

type 2 houseboat conversion by
Robinder
Hi folks! Let's dare to dream a moment...my type 2 (a 1975) has some
serious frame rot and some rather severe engine leaks. I'm told that
without major work, there's no way it will pass even the most forgiving
vehicle inspection standards in the country (Alberta). Problem is that
the interior is...

Re-bushing a carb? by
Mel P.
Before I actually try it, how can I test the carb to make sure the bushings
are the problem?
I have access to a machine shop. Are there sites or webpages that describe
the procedure? Are the bushing sold or should I just make my own?

found my engine problem by
george taylor
I split the case today and found out why the motor was pushing air out of
the carb instead of sucking it in. Somehow The cam was off about 40 deg. I
know, at least I thought that, my friend and I checked that damn thing when
we assembled it but we missed it somehow. It was strange that even though...
