Auto Transmission Oil Filter by gixer
Hi Guys, I need some assistance, I am looking for a part number for the oil filter located in the Jatco L4N71B Type auto transmission box, fitted in a 1994 Eunos. It seems that the Automatic Miata was not officially imported into either Greece or the UK, so Mazda are saying they are not supporting...

Believe it or not? by Leon van Dommelen
This one seems hard to believe, not? http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070207/sc_nm/cars_fuel_ford_dc Although the Dutch are the most reliable people, who would be unlikely to make a claim that was not fully warranted scientifically. Leon --

Owners manual by Healeyman
I recently bought a 2000 Miata, 5-speed. Whoever cleaned the car out REALLY cleaned it out, so much so that I didn't get an owners manual. Can anybody tell me HOW MUCH of WHAT WEIGHT fluid is the full level of the 5-speed transmission. Thanks in advance,

Valve noise. by [email protected]
Hi all. I have some questions concerning my son's 97 Miata. He has owned it since 2001. Durning that time he has put 30,000 miles on it. What can I say he likes computers. I am getting a lot of top end noise from one of the cylinders in my son's Miata. My son doesn't drive his Miata much. And...

Locked wheels by [email protected]
A friend's 91 Miata is in my backyard, and it won't start. We want to tow it to a mechanic, but the wheels seemed to be locked. We turn the key, engage the clutch, but the car won't roll. Any suggestions? (The alarm went off once--could that possibly have locked up the wheels?)

Protege to Miata engine swap? by John Smith
Can it be done? Has it been done? Any links? (From the pictures of the Protege engines for sale on eBay, it looks like it CAN be done, but you'd have to use a Miata intake manifold, as the Protege unit, being for an FWD car, takes in air from the wrong side.)

Seizing Parking Brake Cable by Scott Hughes
My parking brake cable is seizing up causing my right rear brake caliper to not release after using the p.brake. I assume this means it's time to buy a new cable or two? Is this a DIY job, or should I pay for this one? For background, I do brakes, plugs, radiators etc, I pay for timing...

Replacing heater hose. by Mal Osborne
Just had my 94 drop a heap of coolant on the ground :(. Looks like the problem is a short heater hose, running from the firewall, to the back of the head, underneath the cam position sensor. Problem I have is getting to the head end clip. I can see it, but barely touch it, does not seem possible...

'92 hard starting when warm!? by [email protected]
Folks, I have a '92 Miata with about 120,000 miles on it. For the last couple of months I have had trouble starting it when the engine is warm. I rarely do this but when it happens I am sweating it as it cranks and takes me some time to start it. At that time I can smell a lot of gasoline. ...

Oil consumption options by Leon van Dommelen
Now that I will be getting a second Miata, it seems like a good time to do something about Bozo's oil burning problem. But I am somewhat at a loss how to proceed. Valve job? Engine rebuild (boring out cylinders?) Putting in a new engine? Of course, I am not planning to do anything like these...

odometer, speedometer, cruise control by [email protected]
Ok guys, so while she's in the shop for the overheating repairs, I'm hoping that this new mechanic that friends have recommended can figure out why my odometer, speedometer and cruise control all quit. The tach and gas gauge do both work just fine. The last 2 shops didn't have a clue. Any ideas?...
