Want new vehicle is true (real) 4 wheel drive (4WD)? by Kdogg
I'm in the market for an SUV/Pickup truck. I'm curious on what new vehicles are really 4WD? When I mean real 4WD, I mean a vehicle that can send power equally to all 4 wheels, but also pass power to the non-spinning wheel. Here's why I ask... I use to own a 2000 Jeep Wrangler (4 cyl. base...

2000 Ford Explorer - Brake Problem by [email protected]
This morning when I was leaving for work, my vehicle actually accelerated when I pressed the brake pedal. This almost caused an accident as I shot out into the middle of traffic. Have others experienced this problem? During the remainder of my morning ride the brakes were fine. Last night, I do...

Problema tracción Terracan by Guille

Air lift by motorhead
Hey , I've been looking at a Air Lift load assisting system for my 97 XJ Sport. I am looking for a softer ride and about a 2 in lift. Since I have SMA it would be great to be able to have the height and be able to lower it to stock when getting in and out. JC Whitney has them and I can get 15% off...

Bent front axle tube? Dodge 4x4 by Steve
The story: 1988 Dodge Power Ram, 3/4 Ton, 4x4 pickup. Excessive camber (toe out) on left front tire. I stood down the street, about 50 feet in front of my truck, when it was parked on level pavement, and I held a one foot long ruler in front of me and sighted it up to the line of the front axle...

Opinions on mid-90's Toyota Land Cruisers? by Jeff Olsen
I am considering one of these to use as a family "tank". We are an adventurous family so the 4x4 aspect is important, as is the general heavy-duty construction of the LC. I am limiting my search to '93-'97 since I want the better engine and don't want IFS. It would see mostly on-road use but...

Auto Transmission Slips Only When Cold by Marty
I have an automatic V6 1990 Toyota 4Runner with real high mileage. It runs great except when cold. When I come to the first complete stop after starting up in the morning, it slips into neutral for a couple of seconds then back into gear. It's fine when warmed up. Any ideas? Thx.

Front diff, locker or limited slip? by [email protected]
It depends what vehicle and what purpose... A front locker makes steering pretty hard and can more or less be only used when needed on rock climbs and mud .. A slip is more driveable but will only give you some traction to the other wheel .. If going for the locker make sure your axles will hold...
