Sad days... by
GT[_14_]
My 156 2.0JTS is nearly 10 years old now (Oct 2002). 106k miles. Original
exhaust. 1 careful owner, but we need an estate for the growing family + now
a dog. I'm looking at a 3 yr old 159 1.9 JTDM 16v sportwagon, but have to
decide what to do with my 156.
What's the group concensus: Do I trade...

British Motor Show by
John
Is there still a British Motor Show at the NEC in Birmingham each year
in August? I've not been to one of these since I think it was 1999.
I'm sure I heard somewhere they stopped doing them in Birmingham?

Alfa Warranty by
cupra
Other than the obvious (tyres, wiper blades, bushes etc...), I'd be
interested in what else Alfa excludes for 'wear and tear' (documentation a
little sketchy) - any experiences out there?

All quiet on the 159 front? by
Stephen Poley
Been following this group for a couple of weeks, expecting to see quite
a bit of comment on the new 159, but haven't seen any. Is it perhaps not
yet in the showrooms in any English-speaking countries?

Cambelt at 18K by
Pete
I thought that I would treat myself to a new cam belt.
The clock might only have 18K on it but it is fast approaching its
5th birthday. Prevention is cheaper than cure.
Even cheaper when avoiding AR dealers.
Cam belt + all the trimmings
Oil filter and new oil
Check & top all...

My 1.6TS sound like a diesel? by
HK
For a first 10-15 seconds my 1.6TS sounds pretty much like a diesel engine.
After that period it is back to normal. What can be the problem?

156 Cambelt - Help by
pascal
Hi,
I have just had a cambelt failure at 67k on my 156 2.0 TS. I am taking
Alfa UK to small claims court, and would very much welcome any
information about service schedules, alfa policy, dealer advice,
previous cases of payments etc etc.
If I win, I intend to go to the media too, to make sure...

Engine temp - 156 2.5 V6 - by
Jacopo
I'm sorry, this is the third time I post this quest...but I'm worried; my
156 in the traffic - with outside temp of about 30°-35°C heats up to about
100°C, with both fan on. If I use the A/C, the temp remains at 90. And it
reaches 90°C in very low time, about 7-10 minutes of driving in the...

Rear Bumper Replacement Options for a '77 Spider by
G. MacPherson
Does anyone have any suggestions for a replacement bumper for a '77
Spider?
I've heard people say that a '72 to '74 Spider bumper is a good
option, but finding one is another thing.
I even heard someone say that a rear bumper from a mid-80s VW Rabbit
GTI is a good fit. Can anyone verify...

Sigh... the end of an Alfa Romeo episode by

and 80k kms of grinning. My new employee does not supply me a lease car so
this episode has ended for me.. for now... :/
I will buy me a Volvo 850 2.5 20V for lots of space and some pk's for now..

Air Conditioning Playing Up On '00 156 by
Stuart Ewen
Hey Guys
I never had air conditioning in my previous car, so I thought it would be
relatively straightforward to use. Last night, however, it was really
getting under my skin. Thought I'd make it cooler, so turned it down from
21 to 18. The fan starts blowing harder like you'd expect, but the...

Diesel Cam Belt Failure by
Zathras
My garage is hinting that it might be a good idea (and I agree with
them) to change the belts at the 36,000 mile service instead of
waiting until the Alfa interval of 72,000 miles. I asked, and they
said that they've had plenty petrol cambelt failures before 72,000
miles but no diesel failures. Out...

156 restyle: Last chance to buy a new future classic? by
Barry Bingham
Saw a copy of "Practical Classic Car" or some such in WHSmugs yesterday
& they were listing cars made in the last five years most likely to
become classics in x years time.
156 was top of the list, with a prediction that it would be the earlier
pre-facelift cars with original nose, interesting...
