Mark Dunning
Caution!
Warning !!
Danger !!!

My bud burned up his VW engine after mices (meeces? mouses?) nested in the
tin around his cylinders.
I burned up my riding mower engine under the same circumstances.

Forgive me, for I have sinned by
Shag
So with gas prices SUCKING recently I've been driving the '64 Beetle
more than the schmancy gas-guzzling truck I recently bought. Almost
an hour drive to get to work and it gets mighty quiet in there with
the 12 volt setup and the 6 volt radio. So... I noticed Walmart had
a special on a Sony...

Pressure plate/throw out bearings dying? by
Kirk[_2_]
On my 6V '65, when I press in the clutch (via the pedal) with the engine
OFF, it works fine... no weirdness or anything.
Start the motor and as I depress the clutch it starts to whirr - then there
is a "clunk" followed by normal clutch action. Sometimes it was FAR TIGHTER
than it should be,...

FI Bug problem comes & goes by
Mel P.[_2_]
One day my stock FI Bug runs great, no problems. Next day, starts off OK
after a while it'll backfire and eventually stall. Start it goes for a bit
backfires and stalls. If I park it and let sit for about a half hour, it'll
start up and drive with no problems.
Are there gremlins?

Many questions about buying < 1966 beetle - UK by
Dave Angel
Can someone please help with the following questions about buying a UK
beetle. I am ideally after a 1966 or below (I think!) mainly due to
the body panels. I am looking to go with the 'cal resto' look (I
think that's right!) :
- What year did the front lights change from the nice sloping ones...

First time I saw this on a Super Beetle in Chicago.

Der iz da klu. Thanks to the one remaining brain cell that fired off the
name John Henry.
Now I got to remember what Z, A, R means. For now I'll take it as Auf means
on. ( How counter-intutitive is that?) Z means something like off, shutdown,...

Where TF is the reseve position on the old Bug? I don't have that neat plate
that shows the settings.
Today is adventure day. I cranked over the '58. Would not start. Finally a
little fuel trickled into the carb,...
