P1457 Evap emissions code (Check Engine Light), worried about passing smog by [email protected][_1_]
I have over 220K miles on my 97 Accord. I am on the road and my check-engine-light lit up. I took it to Autozone for a read it came up as P1457. Autozone won't however reset it for me. I could be that the full-service attendents topped off my tank (you can't pump your own gas in Oregon). I...

1997 GMC Suburban Door Panel & Brake Switch by cover
I've got a '97 GMC Suburban that has some sort of issue with the drivers inside door handle and it's ability to open the door (drivers window must be rolled down and door opened with the exterior handle). Autozone doesn't show instructions for a '97. Rather, if you choose a '97 model, you get...

Ford pickup low voltage at idle by Nate Nagel[_2_]
I think I posted about this before, but never really got beyond two suggestions... Problem is this. When truck is idling, if enough accessories are turned on, voltage will start to drop, and keep on dropping as if the battery is discharging. Voltage at battery with key off is about 12.9...

Magic rear drum removal technique? (Cavalier) by George[_10_]
('99 Cavalier, emergency brake doesn't hold (req'd for NYS inspection). Backing up to stroke the adjuster doesn't seem to be going anywhere.) The drums are really rusted (?) onto the hubs. The best method I've found is to apply major heat and rap it with a hammer. Over and over and over. Well,...

Cam position sensor (CMP) removal? (Cavalier) by George[_10_]
('99 Cavalier 2.2L) I have an intermittent CEL, with a Cam Position Sensor DTC. I'd like to at least check the connector, but I'm having trouble reaching it. It's on the back side of the engine. The Chevy book just says to remove the right wheel, and reach in. That would work better for Mr....

Repost on wheel bearings for Sebring by [email protected]
I posted about a week ago in reference to my 2002 Chrysler Sebring. I need some input again. A couple of months ago I noticed that when the car was moving I hear a sort of humming sound coming from the front end that gets louder as I go faster. I thought that since my tires were old and fairly...

Bad Diode Stator means? by sorry
Sorry to keep bugging everyone about this, but I just don't know. 77 dodge van 318. On startup ammeter needle swings from full charge to midrange. Loud squealing when ammeter needle swings to full charge. Noise goes away after engine warms up. I think I tried tightening the belt long time ago and...
