1830 cc boxers by
Bert Kanters
I have a spare 1700 carburator boxer engine, that the previous owners took
the carbs of and then left outside, water has gotten in 1 cilinder and it is
not useable anymore without honing/boring and then new pistons. I only
bought this engine for the heads and it was cheap, but now I'm...

147 loose wiring by
rk
Hi all,
Just got my 147 back after its 24k service. I have noticed there is a
wire dangling which I had not noticed before. It is hanging down in
front of the drivers side front wheel and I am guessing that it is the
wire to the indicator in the front spoiler.
On looking under the car I noticed...

Of 156 variator and cambelts by
Catman
The word from him what knows (Jamie Porter at www.alfaworkshop.co.uk)
1) Running with a faling variator will no damage your engine
2) It will, however, damage your image, cos it sounds like a knackered taxi,
and will reduce in a noticable power reduction.
3) It has no bearing on the cambelt and...

AR156 Questions by
Simon C
Hi all
I have a few questions about my 2002 156.
1. Are the rear seats ISOFIX compatible?
2. I am approaching 36,000 miles, which seems to be the point at which many
NGroupies recommend replacing the cambelt. Does this apply to the 2.4JTD as
well as the petrol engined models and should I...

Yes/No to 1986 2000 Spider Veloce by
[email protected]
Ok, it's an unfair question but I have very little time.
I can buy a 1986 Spider Veloce for $5000 here in Arizona. The outside
car is in fantastic condition. The engine is not all that clean but
runs. I have all the service records and the car had $4500 of repairs
done 3000 miles ago. Engine...

Twinspark sumps by
Delgardo
Does anybody know for certain if a sump from a 155 2.0 Twinspark will
fit a 146 2.0 Twinspark?
Someone more knowledgable tham me thinks yes, the only difference being
four bolt holes to mount the exhaust guard on the 146, but I'd just
like to double check.
TIA

New-style 156 opinions sought by
[email protected]
I've had an old style 156 for the last 3 1/2 years which has just given
up on me (a week after the 72,000 mile service, new brake discs & pads
and a new battery - typical!!). The bearings went and the garage want
=A33300 for a reconditioned engine. Seeing as the car is 5 years old
with 72,000 on...

I've just bought my first Alpha, It's a 156 1.8TS 1999. Every thing about
the car is superb, except it has the wooden trim. Ive bought some momo parts
for it (Gear knob & Handbreak handle.) But i can't for the life of me work

Crosses Fingers by
SteveH
Just sent the 75 away for an MOT and estimate for welding the holes
up.....
Instruction are 'it doesn't have to look pretty as it's being relegated
to a track tool'.
It's going to be a nervous day until the phone call to let me know the
estimated cost of getting it legal.

Tiny shocks on my 2.4 JTD by
be037446
When the engine is not at driving temperature, the car shocks a bit when
in low revs (beneath 2000 rpm)while driving (at "city cruising" speed).
Nothing serious but a bit annoying. On stronger accelerations,
everything is normal.
I'm wondering if this is caused by the air mass meter. The car...

156 key/remote (1998) by
D & J Merrylees
I have a 1998 Alfa 156 with original keys which have faulty remote buttons.
The micro switch which is activated by the rubber button on the key has
fallen apart from wear and tear (both keys!), and can't be repaired (I've
tried).
I'm looking at getting a second had key so I can salvage the remote...
