Quick Question by
Drink
My Haynes manual says "refer to the under hood sticker" for base timing
settings for an '86 Vette but I don't have it. What is the base timing
setting for an '86 Vette?
TIA,
Jim

Swaping oem radio on a 2001corvette by
yar
Hi
I have just brought a 2001 convertible corvette and want to change the stock
radio.
I live in the UK and so this is not a common car here.
I have looked on the US web sites and there does not seem to be an adaptable
cable for the car, and some sites state that I will lose some speakers.

C6 by
Dad
Well that didn't go well, the dealer still has the C6. We were close on the
money but I wouldn't give and walked away. The salesman that was talking to
my girl friend before he found out it was ordered for me told her the C6
would blow away the C5. That just isn't so, and it is so close to my CE...

Buying tips for '99 - '01 C5 by
Mutts
I will be looking to purchase a 1999-2001 soon.
Upgrading from my 10.5 year daily driver '89 with 150K on it.
Looking for an automatic, non-covertible, and want the HUD as well.
Hopefully well under 50K on it.
What are the problem areas to look for between '99 and '01?
Any huge differences in...

HELP!!! - Ignition coil problem on 99 LS1 by
Christopher Martin
I'm having an intermittent ignition coil problem with the #5 cylinder
on my 99 LS1 where I keep setting codes PO305 and PO355.
I have replaced the entire bank of coils, the individual spark plug
wire and spark plug itself yet the problem doesn't want to go away.
What happens is that the car will...

Help.... Lights in my '86 dash went out. by
MILF Lover
I have an '86 Vette automatic.
Over the last year, about once a week, my lights in my dash would go out and
come back on in 1-3 seconds. Never long enough to cause any problems and
not long enough to find the problem.
Well, drove the car to work today and it rained. Don't know if that makes...

Non-Factory Spark Plug Gap Setting by
Drink
Hi All,
Quick question: After modifying the ignition system, is there any logical
method or rule of thumb for changing the factory-recommended spark plug gap?
Engine in question is an '86 Corvette 350cid V8 engine with
TPI, HEI ignition, headers, high voltage coil, "performance" 8mm plug...

Sport Seats in a '99 FRC? by
Bill Pallies
I know that the '99 Hardtops didn't offer sport seats as an option. I am
looking at buying this particular model. My question is, are the sport
seats in the C5s self-contained? That is, can they simply be swapped in
for the regular seats? My old C4 had the lumbar adjustments and other
controls on...

Turn Signal Problem by
iatros56
I purchased a 2001 about 4 weeks ago. Last night while driving the turn
signals stopped working. I assumed it was the fuse, but when I checked it
I realized the hazard lights work off of the same fuse and they are
functioning fine.
Is there something else I'm missing?
Thanks

Lost a friend and local Corvette club member by
Tedd Riggs
We just lost a neat couple that has had only vette's since 1962 and very
active in the area's Vette functions. Decided to post this as there are
some Seattle area Vette owners. Leon was active in most ever vette rally in
the Pacific Northwest and loved black vette's and thru the years,...

93 problem by
Charlie
Car runs fine until it warms up, then it dies. Acts like it's starving for fuel. It will star back up, but you have to pump the accelerator, but it will keep dying unless you keep the RPM's up. I'm thinking the MAF sensor. Tried pulling the codes, but they didn't help.
