Braukuche
I drove my ragtop to work yesterday in a (for So Cal) horrendous rainstorm.
When I got home I discovered water, not a whole lot, maybe a cup, in the car.
Now, I would not be surprised to find it on my side since I probably tracked
some in, but there was also abot acups worthonthepassenger side,...

anyone interested in a oval baja by
Kafertoys
I was thinking of takeing the 56 oval I just got and making a baja out of it.
The rockers are in good shape but the car has lots of rust and the nose and
rear apron are real bad. Just the idea I can drop the body on a titled 69
chassis (IRS) and put the oval back on the road. If someone was...

Smegggg (John)
Hey, anyone in Australia know where I can get a Hazard Switch for a

Just went to the "VW Parts Shop" and the guy reckons you can't get

The Ins. Co. wants to total my Bug! by
Al Gilson
Does anyone have any experience with their Bug getting squished by a
dweeb. His insurance company wants to total out my 1970 Convertible.
They offered me an amount based on two comparables. I thought they were
low and sent them some of my research on Hemmings, Samba, AutoTrader and
others that...

I have to conduct a poll for a philosophy class. My poll is whether or
not a VW Bug 1600 engine leaks oil. My 1600 on my 1971 Super Beetle
leaked oil and my 1600 on my 1974 Super Beetle leaks oil. If you have a
1600 engine on your bug could you e-mail me the year of your car and
whether or not...

speedo by
dc
Probably been covered before but I thought I'd tell you that using a
bicycle speedo works great.
Put one on my baja that had none.
epoxy small (included) magnet to top of front drum and pick-up on an
"L" bracket to backing plate.
Had to splice in longer wire, no biggy, and mount gauge to...

Ignition coil. by
Tony Wilkinson
Hi, I have just bought a new 12volt coil and when I came to fit it, it
struck me that the paint might interfere with the current flow on the HT
circuit.
Do I need to remove some of the paint under the clamp? Or is the HT high
enough to jump through the paint?
Cheers,
Tony.

Got a gas heater by

What strange critter these gas heaters are. Where does a person find a new
sparker for them? Mine is there, but it's a little loose and wanders left
and right about a few millimeters.

Floor Pan Replacement, Part 3 by
Ervin Charles
Okay,
The frame is under the chassis and the pans are in place. Do I drill
holes and spot weld the pans to the tunnel or just weld at the edge of the
pans? Does it matter? And do I paint the joint before or after I put
body/seam sealer on the joint?
Thanks, you guys have been a ton of help!

Defrost Help by
Birdlander
OK...I have a classically weak defroster in my 73 SB. Not a problem in the
summer, but as it gets wetter/colder here in the midwest, things get
difficult.
So...is there some kind of solution I can treat the inside of the windshield
with to help with this situation?

Additional notes on electrolytic rust removal by
Bob Hoover
Clean the thing first.
Yeah, I know... it's a mess. But the odds are it's an oily, greasy
mess. And there may still be some paint under all that rust.
Electrolysis does not work on grease. Nor paint. You'll end up
removing the rust from all around the greasy or painted part... which
may be...

Fresh from her shower, my wife was standing in front of the mirror
complaining to me that her breasts were too small. Instead of
characteristically telling her it's not so, I come up with a suggestion.
"If you want your breasts to grow, Then every day take a piece of toilet
paper and rub it...
