Hello, A quick question for you tire pros out the Can I use a set (4) of 185/60/R14 tires in place of my oem set of 185/65/R14 tires? I have a 2000 corolla. Are there any potential problems (tires rubbing against wheel wells etc.)? TIA.

96 Nissan Sentra: How do you pull codes? by Al Kondo
I have a 96 Nissan Sentra GXE. Recently my check engine light lit up and stayed on. I came on when the car was overheating because of a faulty radiator cap which I replaced. I am trying to figure out how to pull the codes to see if there is anything else wrong. I know I can get an OBDII...

4.6L Lincoln TC noise when engine is OFF by [email protected]
I have a '99 Town Car, 4.6L. Periodically when the engine HAS BEEN OFF for a while, there will be what sounds like a whirring or buzzing sound that lasts 5-10 seconds. By chance I was able to approximate where it was coming from one day when the hood was up... sound was coming from a compartment...

gas guzzling and no leaks by [email protected]
Hello My 1991 Cutlass goes through gas like crazy lately with no smell of gas or apparent leaks. I recently replaced the exhaust manifold and the spring bolts do not form a perfect seal. Could this be tricking the computer into running a super rich mixture. I have noticed this problem a lot more...

Should I Purchase A Rebuilt Engine Or Repair Existing One? by Steven C
I have a 1995 Isuzu Trooper with nearly 200,000 miles on it. Within the last three years, I've replaced the water pump, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, and those pesky spark plug well valve cover O-rings that tend to leak like a sieve and flood the spark plug chamber. Per the latter, I had...

Replacing 17" Stock Wheels With 16" Stock - Any Negative Effect? by john
My '03 Toyota Matrix XR has 17" stock wheels, which apparently came with its "Sports Package" (I bought the car slightly used from someone). I want to replace the wheels with 16" stock wheels, which is the original wheel size, because I want tires that are supposed to be especially quiet that come...

new struts for corolla? by Usual Suspect
What do I need to know before getting new struts for my corolla? Do I need both rear struts if only one seems to be bad (cupping)? Do I need 4-wheel alignment to be done afterwards? Would you trust Goodyear to do this kind of job if you were me?

89 Camry - Temperature gauge spikes for a minute and then goes back down by mino
So about a year ago the temperature gauge on my dash started spiking up and then would go down real quick. Sometimes it stays up for a while and sometimes it's just up for a quick second. Sometimes it just jumps a little and sometimes it goes all the way into the red. It happens in cold and hot...

1997 Mercury Marquis wiper arm by ksfair
Can anyone tell me how to replace the wiper arm, drivers side , on a 97 Marquis? There is a weird little gadget with a tab near the attachment point, but I can't see how it works. Better yet, any ideas on increasing the spring pressure on this arm to eliminate a smear?

Geo Metro R wheel bearings keep failing by JOHN D
I've replaced wheel bearings on the same rear wheel about 5 times. They only last a few weeks to a few months. The first failure spun in the hub so I had to replace the drum/hub. The spindle looks ok. The last time I got another used hub, first one was new. I was thinking that some internal...

Question about reading computer codes on 89 Honda Accord by Dan Ritter
I know that some cars have a way of getting a computer code reading from doing something with the ignition and counting the blinking lights. Is there such a thing for an 89 Honda Accord SEI? I think one of my sensors has bit the bullet. In case someone has another idea what could be causing this...

Idle problem after battery change by Bill
I changed the battery in my highly maintained 94 Lumina 3.1 after I noticed that it was cranking slow on cold days. It had been running perfect with a rock solid 800 rpm idle. I had to remove the air box and connector to the airbox hose to get the battery out. Now that I have this simple task...

Front suspension noise in Saturn. by kaasman
We just test drove a '95 Saturn SL2 4 door. Every time we drove it over a speedbump the front suspension made what I can only discribe as a crunching sound. Any ideas what that could have been? Peter.
