2.2 JTS by GT[_14_]
Where has the JTS option gone on the 159?? alfa romeo website car configurator offers the 1750 tb as the only petrol option now! I would have thought that the 2.2 JTS would be much torquier and relaxed drive than the 1750 turbo and similar BHPs. When did this happen and why wasn't I informed!!

156 Speedo failed any ideas? by David A Stocks[_3_]
156 2.4 JTD 2000. It dropped to zero about 30 miles from home on a long journey yesterday - and the miles have stopped clocking up as well. It sometimes comes back but not for very long. AFAIAA it gets its feed from the ABS wheel sensors. The ABS system still seems to work OK - no warning lights...

Windscreen washer jets clogged by GT[_12_]
Windscreen washers. 4 holes at passenger side, 3 are blocked. 4 holes at drivers side, 2 holes are blocked and 1 is dribbling. How do I get to clean them without removing too much 'car'? I have tried a pin etc, but they need to be removed and/or jetted somehow.

Arse.... that's 3 of 4 cars down at the moment! by SteveH[_2_]
Prius was pranged by a clumsy van driver a few weeks back, so that's in to be repaired this week. The Cinquecento track slag is currently away undergoing the transformation from shopping trolley to said track slag. Which left me with the 75. Got it out on Saturday, washed / polished / twiddled...

Can front shocks be reconditioned? by Charlie Money
I've got a 2005 1.9 multijet diesel sportwagon. The front end is bottoming out really badly, even on relatively minor dips in the road, with the front spoiler scraping worryingly on the road. Unfortunately it is out of warranty, as the mileage is very high (102,000 miles) Is it possible to get the...

Silverlake Auctions by R D S
There's another Alfa on there I make have a punt on. Has anyone dealt with them? If I enquire as to the condition of the engine are they likely to be honest? Plus what would it cost to transport a car from Southampton to Lancashire? If its a lot I would hire a trailer. Rick

Look *look* a post to a.a.a-r by Catman
<G> That makes two in one week! Seriously, my car, this morning, reported the outside temperature as: 36C, 11C and then 13C I'm *reasonably* sure this is incorrect, especially as I can still see snow outside. Is the exterior sensor linked to anything important in terms of engine

Anyone seen the May Issue of Auto Italia? by George Graves
They have an article about the new 159 which describes the convoluted process that Alfa goes through to get "its" new 3.2 liter V-6 engines. It makes almost ZERO sense. First, complete Holden V-6s are shipped from Australia to the United States (?). Once in the USA, the engines are dismantled and...

What are mid 90's Alfas like on LPG? by MeatballTurbo
As the time to actually buy a new car approaches, I just an inredible thought. While the Saab has to go, period, I could get something with an equally juicy engine if it could be run on LPG. While I said before, no V6's because of economy, maybe that wouldn't be the case if it could safely and...

2.4 JTD Lipari Grey Veloce - Black Mirrors! by Martin
Hi, Just taken delivery of my new Sportwagon 2.4JTD Veloce - lovely. Trouble is the mirrors - they are just black (unpainted) platic. I was expecting them to be painted body colour (Lipari Grey) as part of the Veloce spec, but this has not happened - do you think this is a mistake. All other...

Alfa GT "ticking" climate control by Grahame
Hi All, Just took delivery of a new Alfa GT (Stromboli Grey, Black Alfatex, 17" spoked Alloys) - beautiful car, very pleased with it. One odd thing though, when the climate control system is on, there is an audible "ticking" noise (sounds like an old grandfather clock) coming from behind the...

Of cambelts and undertrays... by Barry Bingham
Recently been helping a friend choose a used 156 and was amused to note how the official dealer network - even now - holds to the line that 72K is the change interval for cambelts on the Twin Sparks. I was told that choosing to change it before then was "optional". Is then paying the £2k fitted...

Would anyone rate this as a possible first Alfa? by MeatballTurbo
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=9834&item= 2480117994&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW I know it is a 1.8, not a 2 litre, but condition and price seem reasonable. Don't know if I'll bid on this as I still need to sell the Saab, but just trying to get a footing on what is worth what,...
