Where is the power amp located? I have no sound since hooking up a trailer.
I replaced the fuse for the amp and trailer harness, but there is still no
sound. Thinking the amp may have a fuse that's blown but can't find it's
location. HELP!!!

short circuit? by
*selah*
We've had a problem on a 92 explorer. The battery wemt dead
and there was nothing left on. It happened after it was
left sitting for 5 days or so. I tested the battery terminals
(with the battery removed) didn't get an open circuit reading
even though nothing was turned on.
I assume there should...

Water Leak - Drivers Side by
Vic
99 Explorer XLS
Rain or water poured below the windshield (Near the wiper motor) comes
inside the vehicle near the parking brake. It is not just a drip, but runs
in. I don't think it was a gradual failure but something that happened
quickly. We had been driving on rough, dusty roads so I'm...

91 power windows by
srv
RikiTikiTavi,
Does your 91 rear power windows use a cable mechanism (instead of a gear)
to operate the window? If so, can you give me some idea as to how to
remove the motor from the cable?
Thanks

Can anyone with a four door '96 Explorer XLT B-trim (high console

1992 Ford Explorer Strong Vibrations by
Airhead315
I recently bought a 1992 Ford Explorer 4X4 and while driving down the
interstate the car will tend to shake drastically then alm down to a
slight shake and then back to a really bad one. In addition there is a
ticking/scraping noise coming from the drivers side front tire, on closer
inspection the...

1996 Explorer XLT Rattle at 2000 RPM by
icd
I have a 96 Explorer XLT with 115,000 miles on it
Recently it has developed a rattle (which I assume is coming from the
engine) at between 2000 and 2500 rpm.
The engine check light has not come on.
I have taken it to two independant mechanics. Neither has any good
suggestion.
Has anyone got any...

Chief Wiggum, you were correct about the idler pulley. That's what was
making the sound. Good catch :-)

Reverse light wire - 2004 Ford Explorer by
Charles O'Neill
I've just purchased some inexpensive auxiliary back-up lights to mount
on the hitchbar of my 2004 Ford Explorer XLT.
I need to find a convenient spot to splice a relay connection into the
reverse light wire. Does anyone know:
a) what color(s) the reverse light wire on a 2004 Explorer is?
b) is...

Off topic CVT tranny question for Jim Warman or others... by

This question is slightly off topic as it pertains to the new CVT
(Continuously Variable Transmission) used on the new Ford Freestyle Crossover
SUV, but I think the discussion will be interesting to all. The idea has been
around for a while, but this is one of the first actual applications on a...

2004 transmissions by
cyclone
There was a story on CBS late news ( in NY) last night about Ford having
serious problems with shifting into reverse on 2004 Explorers. Sounds like
some units ( they said up to 10% of production) can hesitate up to 5
seconds before clunking into reverse or back to forward.
Has anybody heard...

Jim, or anybody, I have the check engine light coming on telling me that
I need to "Check Engine"
Since it requires an OBD I reader, I buy one. I should be set, right?
