Hey NoOp Patrick -- it's time to go GTO shopping! by
[email protected]
I've got the bug and I've got the money and I'm getting me an '04, '05
or '06 GTO. I drove an '04 w/auto trans on Saturday and these things
are nice. Even the '04, with the 350 hp LS1 5.7 liter, will flatten
you to the seatback in first and second.
The differences between the '04 and the '05-'06,...

Cleaning mass air flow sensor by
Chuck
What's the best to clean the air flow sensor? I've noticed
electronics cleaner,,, would that be contact cleaner? I have some
"tuner cleaner" but I think it has some kind of lube in it..
Do you clean it every so often as Preventative Maintenance?
I have a 96 mustang with 135,000 miles on it. I...

Tune-up for a 1996 GT by
Ivan. K
I have a 1996 GT which I acquired second hand in 2002,
and I feel it is time for a comprehensive tune-up
(for one thing, the "check engine" light has stayed
on for a day or so on at least two occasions over the
last two months). I would also like to take this
opportunity to begin to "trick out"...

my first car was a '66 fastback - unfortunately is was a 6-cyl but as

same car with a 289 2 years later, what a fun and easy engine to work
on.....
then last month i found myself in the midst of real live mustangs in

AOD questions by
gcroix
Anyone here an expert on AODs? I'm working a 91 version. I'm replacing the
front and rear seals. The rear was tight, but I got the seal in. Trans
pan/filter is easy of course.
Problem is the front. There is a panel with about 7 bolts on the front of
the trans (behind converter) that the...

Stuck drum... by
[email protected]
I put new brakes and a wheel cylinder on my '83 GLX a year or so ago,
and now it's time to replace the shoes and the left drum is welded on
with rust.
With the adjustment backed all the way off, I have pounded it with a
rubber hammer, carefully with a heavy jack, and have used a rust
busting...

Air leak? Vaccum leak? Or what? by
jonmarois
I just bought a descent 87 lx mustang. It will run only when you stick your
hand over the air intake. It seems to suck alot more air up than it should.
When you take you hand off it dies. I took off the fuel intake manifold and
cleaned it up, and got a new fuel filter. The EGR valve is working too...

Chrome or No Chrome... That Is The Latest Question by
[email protected]
We all know the Mustang is a hot car right now. Sales are way up and
interest in the iconic pony is at near record highs. Seems much of the
recent success is due to Ford borrowing styling cues from Mustangs
past. But how much/often should Ford dip into history? The previous
generation Mach 1...

Ah, those Chinese transmissions... by
dwight[_5_]
I couldn't help but notice that the manual transmissions for the new
Mustangs were built in China. Didn't care for that, but thought that with
both Ford and Getrag overseeing production, it would be okay. Now I see a
number of complaints are popping up.
Read this on Fox news today:
