For sale ... one is close to being finished. The other is parts only. I am
in Suwanee, GA, just north of Atlanta and would love to get rid of them.
Only 1 injection system working ... set of carbs and any extra stuff I have

They did it again!! by
Paul
Hi all,
yesterday when I approached my 156, I noticed that someone has forced
the lock by pushing a screwdriver or some other pointy object through
the door panel. This is now the 3rd time this happened in this car...
I know it's a common way of forcing the locks of a 156, but since
moving my...

156 front lights by
Diane
My 156 has suddenly developed a problem whereby the front lights do not
work. The full-beam operates correctly, and sidelights, but not "normal".
I have checked the bulbs and also fusebox, anyone any suggestions?
TIA

Alfa Romeo 156 alarm won't turn off problem by
Alfie Norks
I have a 156 (X reg = 2000) and I tried to use it on the weekend only
to find that both of my car keys don't seem to be able to turn off the
car alarm. It's not the key batteries as the chance of both keys being
dead at the same time is very slim - and the key lights come on when I
press their...

156 `speed sensor' by
Malcolm Osborne
I've had a problem recently with the car not restarting, esp. when hot.
Turning the key, the engine turned away as normal, without firing. Leaving
it standing a while overcame this, but it was rather frustrating.
The agent traced this to a speed (rpm?) sensor at the back of the engine.
I suppose...

I have the 156 and test drove a GT the other day - they feel identical to
drive... Is it worth me upgrading to the pose mobile?

Alfa GT 1.9JTD.. as good as it sounds? by
Bram
My basic question is: should my next car be a GT 1.9JTD? :-)
I've driven Alfa's all my life. My current car is an Audi TT though..
(I can hear you all think that's just a souped up Golf and nonsense
like that..) Prejudices aside: the TT is a joy to drive and I'm truly
enjoying it. But there's...

155 reverse and fog light by
Christian Petersen
Hi,
I've just changed the bulbs of the reverse lights and fog lights, but
the lights still doesn't work.
So I guess either it's the sockets or the wiring.
(I just wondered if this is a typical issue, before I start looking with
my voltmeter)
Does anyone have any suggestions/tips where to start...

156 - quirky electrics by
Dave Savage
The left-hand speakers on my radio cut out from time to time.
Please don't laugh at the next bit (it's an Alfa after all) - if I
open/close one of the electric windows, the speakers cut back in again !!!
Any ideas where I should be looking for the fault ?

Alfa test drive day by
DesmaisonLCM
Hello all,
Last Saturday, the Alfa dealer of my area organized one day of free tests with
several professional pilots (on open road ! yes we can have that in France!).
I could test a " Alfa Coupe 1.9 JTD 150 ". It is a very beautiful car, the
engine pleasant but is typified a little too much...

GTV code-key immobilised help!!! by
Carlos
I've already posted on the GTVV6 forum and am not having much luck..
probably because most people were smart enough to buy their Alfa with the
burgandy master key.
Basically the orange code light on the dashboard refuses to switch off,
rendering the car immobilised. I have tried repositioning the...

missing wheel nut adaptors by
John Brunt
I purchased a brand new Alfa 147 jtd lusso 14 months ago. Last weekend my
boyfriend said I could do with the wheels rotating as the fronts are now
worn.
Upon lifting the carpet in the hatch (for the first time)and getting the
jack out he noticed that there was no security wheel nut bolts.....so...

Decisions, decisions... by
Dr Entropy
Dear Alfisti,
The Weber'd 1750 Spider is starting to push some oil out the tailpipe... blue smoke in wisps after
a long run at speed. I suspect worn valve guides as I didn't replace 'em at the last rebuild (Dec
'99 IIRC).
Here's the dilemma:
I have a "spare" 1750 head, some new guides, etc. but...

Two very bad accidents happened yesterday and the day before on the
same spot in Athens, Greece.
In the first an Alfa 147 driver running at 200 km/h inside the city!!!
lost control of the car which killed one person waiting at the bus
stop, the driver himself and thrashed 4 other parked cars. The...

GT JTD Turbo lag? by
Grahame
OK, I'm not even sure if "turbo lag" is the correct terminology here, but
it's my crude attempt to describe the feeling when you pull out at a
roundabout in second gear, underestimate the approaching cars speed, grin
sheepishly at the driver of the oncoming car who resolutely refuses to slow
down...

Service by
David A Smith
I am not used to being treated like this!!!
It started when I phoned to book a service on my 147, I don't do that many
miles now so it is a year since the last service. (The car is three years
old now and has done 24,000 miles, as the service interval is 12000 miles or
annually, which ever comes...
