Nissan Xterra rear brakes adjusting too much...? by
Nate Nagel[_2_]
Hi all,
was asked to look at a friend's Nissan Xterra (rear drum brakes) with a
non-specific brake complaint (don't you love those?) Apparently her
brother in law replaced the front pads recently and she was told by
someone that her rear brakes needed attention. Well I pulled them apart
and...

Observation on Crown Vic brake pads by
Nate Nagel[_2_]
I just found this really odd... spent yesterday impersonating a
professional mechanic as my friend owns a shop and his best tech was on
vacation, and Saturday is when they (obviously) do most of their
business, and he didn't want to have to turn away customers for lack of
a competent...

The NINJAs Have Taken Over The Subprime Lunatic Asylum

One of the most trumpeted stories justifying the US economic "recovery"

what stops fuel injectors from firing? by
[email protected]
my pressure at the Shrader valve is 40.5 psi.A bulb or noid light will tell me if the computer/sensors are ok. But if for instance there's corrosion of the fuel rail itself due to ethanol it won't tell me that (and yes I need to stick a bulb in one receptacle to test for pulses, haven't gotten...

what stops fuel injectors from firing? by

ok, I reread your post. Well I guess if that's the case, that they can check out but break down when a pulse is applied, then a simulated pulse would indicate that. There's pure crank right now. No sign of the engine trying to turn over. If simulating the engine by pulsing them results in no...

A black box in your car? Some see a source of tax revenue (road repair) by

=========
The devices would track every mile you drive —possibly including your

slightly OT gasoline pricing by
Ivan Vegvary[_2_]
I understand the psychology of $x.99 pricing. I don't understand why almost all gas pricing (Oregon) ends in an odd number. Asked my ARCO station manager and withdrew from the discussion after being told that there were more odd numbers than even.

inferior to even Craftsman. One exception is NAPA who sells "Carlyle"
brand tools, I had to buy one of their external Torx sockets when I had
