Nellis[_2_]
I have a '74 Super, and I am having problems with the headlights, and
dash lights, flickering, occasionally. It does not happen all the time,
but when the lights flicker, the generator light comes on, and the
headlights and the generator lights are very bright, and the flickering
is at a...

Who is brave enough to tell me? :-) by
Al[_10_]
The "break in" process for an air cooled engine has any many
explanations as there are actual air cooled engines. <g> I am always
listening for those who have actually done it, and succeeded, so if
you have, I would like to hear from you.
A brief synopsis: Just did a 'top end' rebuild of a Type IV...

BrianTheDude
I'm in the process of getting all the lights working properly on my 73
standard beetle, and need some advice. When the headlight switch
(recently replaced) is in the 1st position, the left front marker
light comes on as normal, but the right is off. When I turn the switch
to position 2 (lights...

Alternator light by
Robert[_12_]
I noticed that my alternator light comes slightly as I increase RPMs.
The closer to idle, the more it turns off. I checked the voltage at
idle and it was about 12.8. At about 2000 rpms, it was about 16.5.
The battery is new. Before I replaced the battery, I would sometimes
have to charge it...

34 PICT Mixture issue by
dfrith
Hi,
I'm running a Formula Vee in Australia that uses a Solex 34 PICT-3
carby on a 1600 Engine.
On the dyno, the mixtures are not looking right, basically, it is
running too lean at low RPM, and rich at high RPM.
Using the main jet and/or the air-correction, I can tune the mixture
correctly for...

Need help with 68 Bug by
[email protected]
1. Can the preheater pipe be blocked off or not used?
2. Should gas have enough pressure to keep the filter full of gas?
3. What is the best electric fuel pump to replace original fuel
pump? Also, should a pressure regulator be used?
Thank you

Another brake question by
One Who Waits
now that I installed a rebuilt Master cylinder ,the bleeding begins.
It seems when I pump the brake I hear a bubble or two come up into the
reservoir.\ So, is this normal? will bubbling stop when all the air is
evacuated? the pedal is still quite low.
BTW, I was able to get that bleeder screw...

Brake problem week chez. moi by
One Who Waits
Now the truck is having brake problems.
It's so new. a 1971 type 2.
I replaced the M.C. and the pedal just goes to the floor. Bleeding isn't
helping. tho. one bleeder on the top of the caliper is stripped. I mean
the wrench just rounds if off even more.

Production Volkswagen Bluesport roadster still a possibility? by
notlove
When it first appeared in Detroit back in January the Bluesport concept stirred talk of the revival of the roadster segment, and especially the Porsche 914 and 356. Unfortunately, the Porsche's rebirth was ruled out last month, and this had led to fears that the same fate may ensue for a planned...
