Please help me bring my 77 bus out of "retirement" by
mez
short version: I'm scared to drive my bus for the first time since last
summer or fall because I'm sure the oil has all drained out of the
engine. Can I just try to turn it by hand a few times or is do I need to
do something I'm probably going to be very nervous about doing since I'm
not...

Horn wiring question by
Tunafish
Finally got around to investigating why the horn doesn't work on my '69
beetle - the earth wire from the horn has been cut by the previous owner! I
assume this wire attaches to either somewhere on the outer tube of the
steering column or thereabouts....? The horn rim earths the outer with the
inner...

Speedometer cable broke...repair said> by
Tom Nakashima
My speedometer cable broke on my '66 bug. It was making a whining noise,
thought it was the brakes at first on the driver's side front. The noise
got louder as I increased the speed, and quieter as I decreased the speed.
Then I head a pop sound and the needle of the speedometer went right...

'69 Ghia by
Greg Whitcomb
I just picked up a 1969 Karmann Ghia for my father and I to restore. I'm in
Charlotte, NC and he's in Orlando, FL. This weekend I'm taking the engine
out for my part of the project and I'm leaving him with the rest of the car.
Good deal huh? :-) Then over Easter I'm taking it to him.
Anyways,...

BananaRepublican
Our type one , 1600 cc single port motor doesn't want to idle.
I replaced the copper seals where the manifold meets the heads.
It seems to heat up as you drive it .

Windshield Installation by
Mac
Just picked up locally a new windshield for my 75 Baja. Broke the original
trying to reinstall after a self done, cheap paint job. While I was putting
it in, with a new seal, the string I was using kept on tearing into the
seal. I didn't have any problems with the other 3 windows. Anyone have...
