Taking my act on the road... by
dwight
Funny how these things happen.
Ten years ago, I was the one doing the travelling on business. In sales, I
was the one tapped to attend many a convention, which meant doing the 5-day
stay in several nice cities around the U.S. (and several not-so-nice ones).
Since I changed jobs, my phone is...

Mustangs for Youger Drivers by
Backyard Mechanic
While the subject is fresh;
I'm gonna do my annual promotion of the Fox body as car for younger
drivers.
Environment: Household with 4 boys separated in years, 1.5, 1.5, 6.
Started out with mid 70's Delta 88 Olds as 'their car'. After tiring of
working on various little things .. though...

`98 GT-Insufficient Switching Control Valve by
tammysmustang
What is it & how do I fix this insufficient switching control valve. When I
get up to 50-60mph it starts jerking real bad. I can't ease off the gas I
have to let off completely. It also surges when idling, but doesn't do it
all the time. I have changed the plugs, MAF sensor, ERG valve & all 4...

'83 GT cruise control by
elaich
Does anybody know where to find some pics or drawings of the underdash
components? There is a switch hanging down (brake pedal switch, I assume)
and there was a little bracket laying loose in the floorboard. I can't for
the life of me figure out how it was assembled. Not too easy to see
anything up...

Saw a Saleen S281 Extreme today by
Dan
Well, I got to see one up close and personal. It was a Screaming Yellow
2006 S281 Extreme. Forged internals and making more boost than the S281
S/C. It has 20" wheels with 15" brake rotors and 6 piston calipers. It
also has some carbon fiber pieces on the front and rear valence that
were very nice....

WTB - '67-8 Mustang / Cougar hood hinges by
Wound Up
Does anyone have a good, tight set of these they'd be willing to sell
me? They are scarce around here, and I'd rather have good originals
than repros. My new hood is 1/2-inch "popped up" at the cowl, and it's
really bugging me.
I don't know what other cars used this hinge, but I'm sure many of...

65 mustang engine question by
Patriot
Ok, have a 65 mustang with a 170 engine 1v carb. When car is warm it runs
great, no problems. Now and then, when I start the car when its cold, it
starts right up, idles fine for about 5 seconds, then begins to idle rough,
it never stalls, but the car shakes a good bit, if I press the gas...

Another stupid VIN number request by
kat >^.^
Hello, all. I asked you guys for help with the 65 Mustang convertible a
long time back, and you came through.
I know you get sick of these requests, but this one's for another
antique, and if we can make sure it's legal, I get to drive it this
summer to work, which Hagerty gets all twitchy about...

Engine problems.... by
Nay-Sayer
Here's the deal. Took my '98 GT 5 speed to my mechanic to have a
Speedcal, a new power-steering rack, and an intake installed. While my
mechanic had the car the fuel pump took a dump so I had him replace it
with a high-flowing pump. My mechanic puts it
all back together but now the car hesitates...

remove "powerpoint" outlet? by
From Punoneboi
OK, for $35M they don't give you a cigarette lighter with your
Mustang.......got tired of looking at that cheap "power point" plug in
the dash, so ordered the smoker's set ($98 for a plastic cup, lighter
and outlet to replace the powerpoint - since the crafty devils made it a
different size).

Roller Rocker Question? by
[email protected]
My 70 mustang 351W motor has roller rockers...I get a little valve
clatter for about 2 minutes when cold....then it goes away. The motor
runs strong...It has hydraulic lifters...Is this a lifter problem or a
roller rocker needing a slight adjustment? Is there a way to tell the
differents?

93 LX w/2.3 question... by
Gerry Pierce
Underneath looking today and saw the boot on the ball joint is all torn
up.... thinking about just going ahead and replacing the ball joints. So, I
am looking up the prices for the parts, and it lists lower ball joint and
lower controll arm seperately. But, when I look up in the repair guides...

Are there states where NOS is illegal to have on the car?
I'm facing a tough decision right now on what car to buy. I want
something thats comfortable. High performance. Easy to modify.
Plenty of aftermarket parts.
What do I need to consider in the Stang? Lets say I get a new 06 GT.
Let's...
