Is there something that can drain an oil filter so it won't spill all over when it's removed, like a device that punches a hole and then sucks out the oil?

Dark or blackout tail lamps by [email protected]
Is anyone familiar with a tail lamp that creates a "blackout" or high contrast tail lamp using a polarizer or liquid crystal or some other approach to create a high contrast of off to on with a brake lamp?

Car servicability ratings? by larry moe 'n curly
Are there any websites or magazines that review vehicles for how difficult or expensive they are to service? Long ago, Popular Mechanics or Popular Science included that information in their car reviews for items like brakes, oil change, belts, etc.

Please Help. by KingWalter
Hi all Some of you might recognize this problem from awhile back, but recently I have had schoolwork and haven't had much time to work on my car. The starter solenoid was bad. I replaced the starter from one I got out of a donor car (which actually started). The problem is, when I connect the...

95 Mercury Cougar V8 - Replace valve guides? by Libby Chantel
If you let it idle for a few minutes, then take off, it pours smoke out the exhaust for about a minute. Someone told me that this is because the valve guides are bad. How would you know definitively that this is caused by valve guides, and if so, what would be the steps involved in replacing them?...

Replace catalytic converter? by Matthew
I own a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 Conversion Van with 135,000 miles that has recently been making a grinding noise. Upon review, my mechanic found the noises were due to two unrelated problems: the transmission and the catalytic converter. I am having the transmission rebuilt, so my question is about the...

Changing Coolant Sunfire 2.4L by mike
I have always done coolant changes on my cars but with my 2000 Pontiac Sunfire with 2.4L engine I decided to have a GM dealer do it. I suggested they flush it as well. It took about an hour. When I got home I decided to look at how they did it. I could only find evidence that they removed the...

I have a 95 escort lx(4sp automatic). Whenever it is extremely cold (-15c) the car will suddenly disengage from overdrive. Then no matter how much I fool with the gas, it (overdrive) fails to engage. I have'nt noticied this with any of the other gears. This happened the first time after driving for...

95 Honda Civic Clutch Problem by [email protected]
I have a problem with my clutch and I am not sure if its weather related or a broken part. It just started about a week and a half ago and has been a very odd issue. It seems that while the car sits for a few hours it stops working and I have to pump it to get it to work. At first I found if I...

2005 Escape high-pitched noise problem? by Vinny
I used the lemon law to get oldsmobile to buy back a 98 intrigue that ate steering racks. Each state has different lemon law rules so find out what they are for your state. In NJ the law was that you had to take the vehicle back for the same problem 3 times within the first 18000 miles without...
