Gas War - An Idea That Will Really Work by Wileyman
GAS WAR - an idea that WILL work This was originally sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. It's worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!! I hear we are going to hit close to $4.00 a gallon by next summer and it might...

new tires and alignment by Scott Hughes
Last night, I had a new set of tires put on and a fresh alignment (done w/ me in the car). The new tires are Toyo T1-Rs (195/55/14 on stock 1994 aluminum). Going on Lanny's specs, here's the before and after numbers: Btw, what are "SAI" and "Included Angle"? BEFO Front caster (L/R): 4.5° /...

Bad noise from clutch by Scott Hughes
My '94 recently started making noise when I engage the clutch. It's not always there, but most of the time at idle or low revs (probably still there, just gets drowned out at higher revs) I hear a grinding-type noise. Maybe more like halfway between a grind and a squeal, it's weird. It...

65 mph HARD shake by [email protected]
Yes, I know that everyone and their dog has reported this problem, but I'm starting to think that mine might be a little worse. I've got a '99 Miata I purchased back in July, and it has always had the 65 mph shake. I had new tires put on and asked them to take extra care when balancing the...

Back..need another Miata by JeffinMS
Hello. Suppose I should "re-introduce" myself. I used to post here as someone else. Someone may remember 1 1/2 years ago I ran over a 10 ton hydraulic jack with my 91, it fell off the back of a tow truck going down I-20. Only $1000 in damage (replaced oil pan), felt lucky. Got a lot of advice from...

My attempt to buy tires by Frank Berger
Called Kauffman Tire in Plano, TX. Asked for a quote on 4 Toyo T1R's, including installation, balancing & tax. Fellow said $420. I asked him to order them and call me when they came in. Never called. I called back a couple of weeks later, talked to someone else who put me on hold. After...

Check engine light by Barry
For the past several weeks I've been having a problem with the check engine light on my 1999 Miata, 79,000 miles. The first time it happened was when starting after being parked for about two hours. The engine ran very rough, almost stalling, with the check engine light flashing. I checked the...

Am I Gay? by Eugene
I have decided that my next car will be a Miata. They're fast, fun, good looking. My wife says this means I'm gay. I always thought that being gay had something to do with having sex with men. Since I don't do that, I thought I was safe. But now I'm afraid that slipping into that new seat and...

Another timing belt question by Dave Smith
My local repair shop is great. They've always done a good job on my several cars over the past ten years. Now I have to replace the timing belt (and the water pump) on my '97 Miata. Is there anything about the job on a Miata that would make it a better idea to have it done by a specialist? My...
