CD player question by
Scott C
Jot a 1995 525i for a great deal. The CD player is not working.. I have it
taken apart and found a stuck CD - got it out, but still, I watch the
changer look for disks, a disk gets about 1/4 way in, and goes back out..
then I get a disk error. My thinking is that there may be a photo diode that
is...

Radio CODE by
Jeff Strickland
I allowed my battery to drain, causing the radio to display CODE. I
_thought_ I knew the code it wanted, and attempted it and a couple of
variations, all of which were wrong. Now, I have the code card, but the
radio will not accept any entry. I know the code I have is the right one,
and I'm certain...

E 36. Different size spare by
Cheryle & Donal Smith
Several months after buying a '96 323i (in Australia) I had a good look at
the spare and realised that the tyres fitted to the car are 225-50-R16's but
the spare is a 205-60-R15.
My questions are A. is it usable as a spare and B, if it is an indication
of the original size tyre fitted will my...

E30 ABS question by
John Burns
Can anyone tell me where the metal stator marks which the ABS sensor
keys on are on the rear transaxles? The parts CD shows different part
numbers for abs and non-abs transaxles but unlike the 635CSi the stator
ridges aren't on a removable plate I don't think.
I'm converting a non-abs 318iS E30 to...

How to replace LEDs in e36 instrument cluster? by
Randy
I have a 1995 M3 with three LEDs out in the dash -- dark spots in the
speedo, fuel gauge, and tach. How hard is it to replace these myself?
How hard is it to pull the cluster? Can I buy individual LEDs to
replace those that are kaput? From Radio Shack maybe? Can I swap them
in myself with my...

E36 Squeaky Steering Wheel by
Tom Allen
I have a 95 325ic with a squeaky steering wheel....I've had
it in the shop 3 times (BMW Dealer) to have if fixed. They
replaced 2 different parts (not sure what they were, but
something in the steering column that rubs against each
other as you turn the wheel). Spent almost $500 for all
visits...

BMW318i E36 1993: In-car Heater not functioning by
djtep
Dear fellow BMW people,
My in-car heater does not operate.
I have checked all fuses and all are functional as expected.
Has anyone experienced the heater not functioning? What is the process of
fixing this problem?
Kind Regards,

how to sell a BMW? by
ELD
I've got a BMW to sell and no one seems interested.
It's been in AutoTrader and on Craig's list for a week.
I've added it to Ebay and the local (San Jose) paper.
I'm even asking three grand UNDER Kelly Blue Book.
It's a perfectly good car, in excellent shape, but so far, not a single
bite.
Any...

Aux fan resistor. by
Mike G
Looking for one of these at a reasonable price in the uk.
The Bosch one, Pt No 17 40 1 373 177.
GSF and Eurocarparts don't list it.
I was offered a s/h one at £24 plus postage, which considering Bavauto are
selling new ones for $21.95, seemed a bit steep.
TIA.
Mike.

Fans not working 2002 530 by
[email protected]
I got in my car today, after i started it I noticed the fans were not
blowing any air. I played with it a while and there was nothing. Even
if I turned on the Air and set it to Max nothing would come out the
vents. I am assuming it is most likely a blown fuse, but could it be
any thing else? thanks.

745LI speedo problems? by
liteflyer 1
anyone hear of the speedo being off in the 2002 to 2006 745 series?
Not the odometer but the speedo, could be as much as 10 to 15 mph.
Also I just found out that the brake lights will not work if the
ignition switch is not on. Is that right?
thanks

High Mileage M3 Advice by
Mark D
Hey guys,
Curious what your opinions are, I have a 1996 M3 with 175,000 miles on it.
The miles can be described as primarily highway, with lots of hard
driving. Cruising speed is 90MPH @ 4,000 RPM at almost all times. All
owners have been very easy on the brakes, clutch and driveline in
general....

Front end alignment - what are you paying? by
Scott C
Just put new tires on our 2002 325. The car does not seem to track as well
as it did before the tires were put on. I thought to have a front end
alignment, but the dealer wants $250 (rip off!!) and is suggesting front
bushings also.. for another $600.. rip off #2.
Just interested in what you are...
