Are 97 528's reliable? by
Stan Dowiat
I'm new to BMW's, usually liek Honda/Acura and Toyota. I've found a 97
528iwith 110,000 miles. It looks to be in good shape and it's really sharp.
The asking price is $10,900 so I bet I could get it down to $10,000. From
what I found looking this model up this would be a very good price, what...

E39 six cylinder car question by
bfd
Hi,
I'm thinking about an E39 528i or 530i with manual and sport suspension and
have a few questions:
1. did all E39 six cylinder cars come with rack & pinion steering?
2. I know the 2001-03 530i is the "preferred" model, but how close in
performance is the 528i?
3. anything I should be looking...

323Ci standard wheel size by
Richard Spare
I'm renewing my insurance this month and have been asked whether the car has
any modifications. I have 225 x 18" front and 255 x 18 rear. I suspect these
are not standard for a 2000 323Ci. Does anyone know what the standard sizes
are?
Cheers
Richard

88 535i suspension by
Michael Harvey
Hi, I have a tough question about my 88 535i suspension.
I get a problem where I can feel the tracking slowly changing while I drive,
a few hours it will be one way (maybe bad), then it will be another way
(good tracking like a new car). Often it will change from the previous day
after backing out...

sound system options back in the 2002-2004 model years ??
Thank...

Auto tranny reliability on non-BMWs? by
John Burns
Anyone care to comment on how reliable other makes of car's autoboxes
are after 100-150k miles? I know that many other makes share the same
boxes as BMWs but I'm curious to know how Japanese and other euro makes
compare.
There seems to be a perception that the five speed auto boxes are an
accident...

Noisey Alternator. by
Jeff Strickland
Days? Repaired?
It takes an hour to take it off and put a new one on. Assuming I used the
correct engine for your car, the alternator will cost you about $250 if you
go to the parts store yourself and get it. I can't tell what the price will
be if your mechanic buys it and passes it along to you,...

Satelite Radio on an E39` by
George Johnston
I would love anyone's opinions on installing a Sirius Radio in my 540. I
would prefer to to ruin the look of the radio, But I really hate CRTC
content rules.
If anyone has any experience with this, I would appreciate any insights.

Hi Gang,
I have a 2000 528i.
Last week I got in the car to go to work. I noticed a big crack in the
plastic "woodgrain" trim that covers the cassette player. I was confused as
to how this might of happened, then I had realized it may have cracked
because the termperature has been too cold. Here...

Hello all,
Like my subject line asks, are drilled and/or slotted brake rotors worth
the money or are they just another aftermarket gimmick to get my hard earned
money? Are any brands more reputable, etc.
Thanks,
Karl
PS, I decided to go back with a stock muffler system to kill the droaning
sound...
