Manuals on recent crop of subarus by AD[_2_]
This is not to rub it in, but I'm truly curious how do you like the gear change process on your late model subarus? Bonus points if you had a stick shift honda, older subaru with a manual at some point, or, better yet some sort of a slick 6sp, so you have the proper background for comparison. (I...

New A4 owner: first impressions, Bentley manual justification, extrakey cost at the dealer, by AD[_2_]
Hi there, I finally got ahold of my 2003 A4 Avant 1.8T, it took 3 month to ship it from NJ/Penn State. First impressions: Lots of buttons to dig through: Took me quite a while how to turn the rear wiper off when I picked the car from customs yesterday.

I need help! by AD[_2_]
While picking up my toddler from daycare today I caught myself getting lost on purpose, which resulted in an extra 6-7 mile loop. If anyone found a cure for excessive hedonism please do share it here.

Puzzled by the rubber choice of the previous owner by AD[_2_]
My A4 Avant Quattro came with 17" original rims wearing Continental ContiProContact 235/45R17 so I assume the car has sport package (A cursory look at the spare revealed that it is also 17") I'm scratching my head trying to figure out why would any one buy a car with sport package and outfit it...

A4L regional trial by AD[_2_]
me thinks it would do audi some good to try a pilot sale (trial run) of A4L in the nothern kaulifornia (san francisco area) Given the large chinese enclave that is used to the longer wheelbase A4 i suspect it will sell quite well to the folk who could not get themselves to justify the extra heft...

YIKES! by D. LaCourse
Went to observe my grandson drive a Lamborgini today. He's a polce officer and there is a local business that rents high-end cars by the day. The Lambo is $650 for a week-day, and $500 a day for more than one day. They had a Porsche 911 Turbo cab, a Bently Continental GT, and the Lambo. I...

New A8L by D. LaCourse
Picked up my new A8L yesterday. Pretty neat car. Not as fast, of course, as my RS6, but it still has some balls. Rooooooomy. It will make a good road trip car. Handles surprisingly well, with a very nice ride. Dave

Would 175 70 R15s fit the A4 wheel wells? by AD[_2_]
Does anyone run 175 70 R15 here? I found some off-road rubber for soft offroading on my upcoming A4 Avant Quattro (basically just quickly get off the paved road for 100-200 feet without getting stuck in the mud) the diff in the outside diameter is about 20mil (4/5") would these 70 profile tires...

2007 A3 - mechanics of opening the door by Kevin McMurtrie[_3_]
When I open the door of my 2007 A3 3.2 after the car has been locked for a while, electric motors whir for about three seconds. What's it doing? It sounds a bit like it could be opening cabin air vents, but the sound is difficult to locate. -- I will not see posts from Google or e-mails from...

Audi A6 CD player errors by Mark[_35_]
My Audi A6 is quite old now and the CD player is playing up more and more. We often get ERR1 and ERR3 displayed on the player in the car and one or all CDs will not play. Usually ejecting the cassette and replacing it sorts the problem out but increasingly this solution fails to work. I doubt I...
