02 Buick 3.8 problem by Dave B
I've got a 2002 Buick Regal that has an engine problem. It's the 3.8L engine and it runs good up to about 4000 RPM then starts losing power and missing badly. There are no codes when checked with the scan tool. Speed makes no difference, in fact it will do it in neutral too. Any ideas would be...

Suzuki Vitara fuel injection short by Pig Sick
I've posted the following mesage on rec.autos.4x4 and had a couple of helpful suggestions that I haven't managed to follow up yet. One was to check the fuel pump, the other to check the ignition. Then I stumbled on this group which seems better populated than 4x4 so I thought I'd copy my tale to...

How do you fix a short hose without disassembling the engine? by mike
My neighbor has an old Ford truck. There's a coolant hose between the water pump and the intake manifold. The distance between the pump and the manifold is about two inches. But the gap between the ends of the pipes is only about 0.3". Cutting the old hose off was easy. How do you get the new...

Door hinge pins, 2001 Sonoma pickup by HLS
Hinge pins and bushings are worn on this relatively recent application causing wind noise, rain leakage, poor closing of doors. Are special tools required for this replacement, or is it a fairly simple task. Strangely enough, this is one I never had to tackle before. Would appreciate any comments.

Is this compressor strong enought to spray rusprooting by Frank
I have learned to trust the advice of the people that comes here and while not specifically car related, this is still somewhat related to cars. I am looking to purchase an air compressor to do odd jobs around the house. The worst (i.e. most intensive) job I can think of will be to spray some...

How to remove? - rear passenger spark plug wire by inetquestion
Specs: 1998 ford explorer, 4.0, SOHC, and a really frustrated driver! Is there any way to get this plug wire off without ripping it out. I can touch it, but do not have the leverage needed to remove the stuck boot. It doesn't appear that there is anything capable of being removed that will allow...

EGR system plugged by Martik
1980 Ford Tbird 255CID. (similar to 302) 1. Is this a vacuum actuated valve or backpressure type. It does not respond to full vacuum. 2. I assume the passage into the intake is blocked because the idle does not change when I open the valve and I cannot blow compressed air thru it. Plenty of...

94 Grand Am-Possible starter prob, heeelp! by Kevin
Hey folks -- 94 Pontiac Grand Am v6 3.1L I am almost positive that I'm having a starter problem. Going back months, I'd get into the car and go to start it. It would start, and I'd release the keys, but the car still sounded like I was cranking it. I'd immediately put my foot on the break, and...

The parking cycle seems to be dead. The wipers work perfect other than the parking problem. I removed the cover to reveal the...

Chaging the Struts on a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix... by Jerz001
Hello All, Ok, so I decided I was going to change the struts (all 4) on my 2001 Grand Prix. I got some new KYB GR-2 struts, a spring compressor, a 20 pack of bud and headed to my friends (He has all the tools). 5 hours later, we have all four done and the car rides like a dream. So what's the...
