Cool Start RS 900v Remote Control by
Coogrr
If anyone is considering the purchase of the Cool Start RS 900v by Crime
Stopper -- don't do it!
You will get NO support for the device in the event of a failure. My car had
the unit installed. During a recent storm a tree branch crashed through the
windshield of my car and destroyed the small...

Motorhome taillight not working by
[email protected]
I have a 1977 Dodge motorhome. The rear passenger side taillight
comes on when the headlights are put on but the directional signal and
brake light has stopped working on the rear passenger side only. I
replaced the bulbs and the two rear light assemblies are only about 3
years old, so I believe...

ford econoline 1999 by
ann
I had my brakes recently replaced by dealer. He said they put in a
stronger type than what the new van came in . Now I'm getting squeaks
when braking. Anyone have this problem.. Should I insist on the
softer brakes? I went over 100,000 on the softer with no problems.

Help With Relay by
Craig
Hello friends at rec.autos.tech,
I have a heater blower motor that draws approx. 25 to 30 amps. When the
vehicle is running at idle, my volt meter reads just under 14 volts. When
the blower motor is placed on high, there is a significant voltage drop on
the gauge, in the 11 to 12 volt range. I...

Car been sitting .. Low brake pressure by
M.Burns
Have an old mid-70's Vette that I only take out in Spring/Summer..
Typically every 2 or 3 yrs, the front rotors would leak after sitting thru
the winter. So last year I put stainless calipers on the front. Just took
it out, pedal felt a little mushy, and half way around the block, the
warning...

Alternator ID, 91 Prizm by
macncheez
After browsing thru this forum for a couple hours, I've figured that the
alternator issues with my 91 Prizm might be solved by replacing the
brushes.
I can't find any label on the alternator to tell if it's the Nippon Denso
(most likely, I understand) or Delco. Is there an easy way to ID...

What we call 'ping' or 'knock' is the fuel/air mixture in the cylinder
detonating at the wrong time in the cycle. This is definitely harmful.
It probably won't destroy your engine, but the...

removing skunk odor by
[email protected]
Hello:
First time posting. The other evening, a baby skunk crossed my path as
I was driving through town. I didn't want to hit the animal so I
slowed right down to a stop. Well, for my efforts, the skunk sprayed
the underside of the car & the smell permeated the entire interior. I
took it...

1989 Porsche 928 S4: what oil at 100K? by

What grade of oil would one use in a 1989
Porsche 928 S4, automatic transmission, 100K?
I say Mobil-1 "extended performance" synthetic
15W-50 is the best bet, though the opinions
vary on this widely. The "extended performance"
synthetic that Mobil-1 has is (at the moment)
hard to find; does anyone...
