159 Bluetooth by alfazaphod
Having owned my 159 for a year, eldest son asked how to use the bluetooth (I'm not mobile friendly!). When the relevant button is pressed a message "English Language unavailable" appears on the screen. Phone detects a 'Blue and Me' presence, but cannot connect. Any suggestions?!? Reply to...

156 Gear Stick by Jim[_32_]
Hi, Anyone else suffered from a stiff(ish) gear stick? My 1.9JTD has lost it's self-centring ability again......last time I gave the linkage a spray with WD40 and that lasted a while....is it a common problem?

Yet another split hose! by R C Nesbit
The 156 1.9jtd has been running a bit lumpy of late, smoking quite a bit, and using More fuel. Today #1 son had a listen under the bonnet and located the induction noise as a split in the air intake hose into the top of the engine. Not costed it yet, but the last hose - intercooler, at the...

Giulietta spotted - gorgeous in the flesh by Dave Savage[_3_]
Just saw my first Giulietta (White) in Wimbledon (South London). Couldn't stop to examine, but .... gorgeous !!!! As an aside - I don't generally find that white looks good on cars - is the Alfa white an exception ? Dave S :>)) 156 (Proteo Red, not White)

156 on the blink by Malcolm Osborne
156 2.0TS - driving along, revs go up briefly, then engine dies. Turning ignition key causes starter motor to go `whirr', but no effect on engine. Doesn't sound like cambelt - that would be more dramatic? Any suggestions on root cause, before car is towed to agent? Was due to go there in near...

147 Using oil by R C Nesbit
Lesley's 147 2.0TS is using quite a bit of oil. The oil is very clean, the seller told us it had a recent service with oil & filter change. So clean that it is almost impossible to see it on the dip-stick, you have to feel for it. Folowing it last week I noticed when she floored it to...

156 Cargo net size by GT[_14_]
Anyone know if the cargo net accessory is the same size for the 156 saloon (2002) as the estate? (The stretchy net thingy that clips into the bottom of the boot to stop your pint of milk and mars bar from rolling around)

159 1750tbi by GT[_14_]
Google for 159 1750tbi (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=159+1750tbi) and the first thing on the sponsored links box (RHS) is a link to a traumatic brain injury website. Are they trying to tell us something about your mental state if you buy one? Or perhaps mental state required before buying one? Its a...

2.2 JTS by GT[_14_]
Where has the JTS option gone on the 159?? alfa romeo website car configurator offers the 1750 tb as the only petrol option now! I would have thought that the 2.2 JTS would be much torquier and relaxed drive than the 1750 turbo and similar BHPs. When did this happen and why wasn't I informed!!

156 Airbag recharge by Malcolm Osborne
My '99 vintage 156 TS is now 11 years old, coming up for an (expensive) 280 000Km service! Have to change cambelt once again. A while ago, I noticed a sticker on the doorframe stating that the airbags should have had the gas cylinder(s) recharged by 2009. I'll get that checked at the service,...

Locating parts and advice for an alfa spider-1974 by TimM
Hi guys - I'm new to this forum. I was given an old Alpha Spider 1974 as a wedding present - and its sitting in a garage in Italy without a license plate and a mechanic saying I need to change some things to get it to pass its Italian mot. I was told that ironically it might be cheaper to find...
