New Orleans deserves this hurricane by reggie white
After years of sinning every year at Mardi Gras, after years of disrespecting the laws of the Bible, after years of promoting gay marriage, New Orleans is finally facing God's wrath. I have no sympathy for sinners. My greatest fear is that the Superdome will collapse taking 70,000 African-Americans...

A world without GPL????????? by Byron Forbes
With rFactor now the most central part of sim racing, it seems to me that one of the hurdles for it to overcome is convincing the public of the authenticity of it's "Mods" - both the tracks and particularly the cars that will be depicted via rFactor but created via 3rd parties. Will it be perceived...

first FIRST Racing screenshots by Bob Loblaw
You can take a look at them he http://www.bhmotorsports.com/FIRST/screenshots Graphically, i'm rather unimpressed. The car models are bland, and the grass textures are simply fake looking. I was hoping for next gen graphics but got 2003 era ones instead. When are we going to see photo...

NSR - Let the issues begin :) by Larry
Ok, I can't even get started. Athlon64-3500, Radeon 9800 Pro, and I'm getting 8 fps with the game recommended settings. Trying to figure it out now... -Larry

iRacing: The race that changed my mind! by Andrew MacPherson
Well, maybe. This is *me* we're talking about. ;-) Despite all my whining I've driven about five races on my night off. The first three were the usual mixed bag of distinctly average experiences... a few moments of tension at the start, then a steady trail of hotlaps with the occasional spinner or...

HDTV gaming by Bob Loblaw
I'm planning on buying a 1080p HDTV set and i was wondering if games like GTR2 and rFactor support 1920 x 1080 resolutions. Also, i'm hesitating between DLP and flat panel LCD. Which technology would be better suited for gaming?

rfactor, I HATE THIS CRAP OF by test
having to earn cars, I've been racing for 20 years, and if I pay for a new sim, I want to be able to drive any car in it without having to go through all this buying and selling crap. Can't even drive the cars in that were in the demo. THIS SUCKS>>>

So-called "revival" of simracing : blah! by ymenard
rFactor : 40, perhaps 50 people online MAX at peak times. Leagues are careful not to switch yet. Plenty of "possibilities" for mods but how many of them will 1) ever see the finish light 2) be of an actual quality and 3) be worth if it there's nobody racing them? GTL : Great cars on washed out...

GTR: You must be kidding me by graycat
I just tried the GTR v2 demo and man what a piece of junk! It would not load properly and when it did it would not calibrate my wheel. What I did manage to see looked like a very bad arcade game. As far as I can tell, GPL is STILL the best. What a disappointment. If I am missing something, someone...

iRacing - My slant by Byron Forbes
For the noobs - http://www.iracing.com/home.html A few months back I get an email from iRacing letting me know about a 3 months for $25 deal. Sounds too good to resist and I feel an itch to scratch so I go and spend over $1000 on new computer, G25 and seat! :) Though there is the odd...

Analogies, trains and FIRST-Racing... by Tony Rickard
My train analogy for FIRST Racing: Back in 1990 a company made its first passenger train. It was the best passenger train ever made and defined the design of trains for the future. The engineers and designers were heralded as innovators. A competitor surpassed it in 92 as new techniques and...

GTR - An Appreciation by Steve Smith
GTR - A Sim to Believe In (Part Preview, Part Review) I'm amazed at the outpouring of negativity surrounding SimBin's "GTR" (for the FIA's "GT Racing") by people who haven't played the game...even some from people who haven't bothered to play the demo! And among those who have actually played...
