Strange fuel consumption on a 330t by Dave Plowman (News)
My brother recently bought an 00 330t manual. Seems to run just fine. Fuel consumption on his sort of local journeys is ok - about 24 mpg UK. On most long journeys he tows a caravan - so lets ignore that bit. ;-) But recently he did 500 miles plus without caravan. Consumption according to the OBC...

Reverse Switch by Jeff Strickland
My '94 325i convertible, manual transmission, does not light the Back Up Lights when Reverse is selected. There's no voltage at the lamp socket, and my schematic says the switch is the problem. Where is the switch mounted? What I'm really interested in is a way to get to the switch without...

Strange fuel consumption on a 330t by Dave Plowman (News)
Just to follow up I have a Peake code reader for my 528 ('97) - but not sure if it would work on his 330. On his car you can reset the service indicator using the trip reset button - not so on mine. So I'm not sure if they're compatible. A problem is we live at opposite ends of the country. -- *A...

Washers not working :-( by R. Mark Clayton
Recently put some more screen wash in the reservoirs (which might have been a bit dilute). Car is garaged, but was been left out on a freezing day. Motors run, but screen jets trickle at best (were OK before). Headlamps washers blast away. No signs of leakage.

'98 E39 strange overheating by SunK
My 528 runs great but the temp guage will suddenly start rising and light up the red zone in the guage - it stays that way for about a minute at the most and then returns to normal. It may do this once or two time I drive the car out. I have noticed that this tends to happen on an undulating road...

E46 maintenance and thoughts on E90 by anoop
Got an E90 as a loaner at my last service. It was an auto, though. The steering wheel controls are way better on the E46 (larger and easier to use). Also prefer the E46 for the dash area (larger displays). Cup holders are better on the E46. In terms of the drive, I could live with the E90. ...

Strange X5 Oil Pressure Behavior by Mikep
So I drive the 2004 X5 3.0 to town slowly thru a residential area and park - We do about 45 minutes of shopping and head back to the X5. As we get close, I see that the headlights are on. Strange. So I get in and verify that the headlight switch is in the 'Auto' position (which automatically...

Coolant gets empty more often than before... by WK2
Hello BMW owners, I have an old BMW 323i, 1999 4 door sedan, but low mileage of 47K. I just added more coolant after the dash board light was on some times for coolant (but most of times it briefly lights up and turns off after a few minutes later), and I just checked the coolant, found it was...
