I Don't Believe It! by Zathras
Car failed to start yesterday afternoon. First proper fail to proceed in 8 years. Not too shabby. However, I suspect the immobiliser is playing up. It cranked fine (for as long as I could be bothered holding the key!) and I could hear the fuel lift pump so I'm suspecting the immobiliser is playing...

Light comes on when I start up and then goes off some time later (many minutes). Comes back on again intermittently. Only started doing it a couple of days ago. Any help greatly appreciated.

156 Engine Temperature by Paul Mosley
Hi I've just bought a 156 JTS Sportwagon and the temperature gauge hardly moves unless I run the engine while stationary. I imagine that the thermostat is stuck open. Is this a comon problem and is it easy to replace?

Mangoletsi, Knutsford by redTed
40 minutes we waited for anyone to attend to our request for a valuation. We were promised numerous times that somebody would "be with you shortly". They were not busy and most of the staff were walking around drinking coffee and talking about football. Seems like poor Alfa Romeo are plagued by...

Suspension Stuff! by Ross
Hi All Has anybody had any suspension problems on GT's yet? Some of you must have done a few miles by now? I've been considering changing my 147(2002) next spring for a GT, but 5 weeks ago I had to spend £300 for a new front anti-roll bar and link arms, and today, another £200 on an o/s lower...

Of misfiring and sidelight bulb.... by cupra
A slight misfiring problem solved this morning (147 JTD) - caused by injector wire coming loose..... .....and the sidelight bulb - had to pay dealer to change it this time as I couldn't get the holder to budge..... my consolation for the labour charge is that it took them 1/2hr to do it!

OK, the idea of a V6 is appealing at the moment..... by SteveH
Right, it comes down to this: I get 28mpg from my Marea on my commute. The company pays a pittance - 20p / mile. However, roughly speaking, given that the first 10 miles each way come out of my pocket, I claim back roughly 70 quid per week..... of which I like to put some away...

Dr. Boggis, Catman, Paulo ... by [email protected]
My computer is acting up a bit today so I'm starting a new thread to be sure you get this. Friends, I do owe you a pic of my Spider so here it is. I uploaded it to my personal web site. http://www.tinasethiopiancafe.com/images/alfa.jpg I guess I'm a bona fide Alfa owner now. My fuel pump...

156 2.0TS Cambelt @ 65k by colhum1
Hi all, I am new to this site but can see some useful info. Problem..cambelt has gone on my 156. I heard a ticking noise whilst stationary, turned off the engine. Started (or tried to) it again but no joy. No warning lights, water or oil...had it picked up and taken to Alfa in Northamton. Its...

Air Conditioner -- AR 166 by DJ
Hi, I've got a AR 166 which I have had for a couple of months - I'm the first owner - but the cars a year old because it was pre-registered by Alfa. Anyway I thought the air con was fine but since we have had a couple of hot days, i.e 25 degrees, my aircon doesn't seem that effective. If I set it...

156 head light beam pattern by Martyn
Dear all 156 owners, I had a real shock this week, as I took my immaculate 2001 156 sportwagon in for its first mot test. I have owned this car from new, and only covered 5700 miles, so no wear and tear almost as new. The tester refused to pass my car as the front off side head lamp beam pattern...

Alfa exhaust original vs pattern??? by DJ
I have to replace the mid section of my Alfa Spider (99 V) exhaust and have been advised to get oringial alfa parts. But this is over twice the cost of say Kwik Fit. Are there any real advantages to getting original exhaustss parts?

Tyre Wear - 156 2.0 Ts Veloce by Graeme Cosgrove
My 2002 156 just failed it's first MOT because of the wear on the front tyres. The inners are worn right down, and the rest of the tyres are down to the wear indicators. I put these boots on in January this year e.g. 11 months ago! They are Goodyears and I expected better than 12,000 miles...

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! by alfistagj
Finally got my GT 2.0JTS today. Colour changed during the 7 months wait (!) but I must say, Rosso Radicofani (a new metallic red) suits the car perfectly. All the curves shine like an angel in the blue sky! Natural leather, 18" GTA rims with 225/40 Michelins and the Bose sound system to finish it...
