silly timing question (how-to) by
Jo Bo
If it's standard shift there's a plastic cap on the top of the bell housing.
The there's marks on the flywheel and a pointer. You may need to unscrew the
outer plastic part to see the pointer.

CPR by
Nathan
I am having trouble getting an 81 Rabbit convertible running
correctly.
I am wondering if it is possible to bypass the CPR entirely. I have a
line that I can do this with, I just need to know if this will create
a condition that the car will run correctly in, assuming it is warmed
up.
Currently I...

had the clutch changed a few months ago and got them to put in new
synthetic fluid. (which has been slowly dripping out :( )
I guess I have to top it up anyway, Does it matter if I use the same
fluid? Should I bother saving...

Axle Flange Question by
Kent
Sorry for asking again, but I really would like to get the group's input on
this. When I removed my axle flanges, the large springs and thrust washers
that are supposed to be behind the flanges (according to Bentley) were not
there. I've been driving around like this for at least 100,000 miles....

Octane fuel to use for a 92 Passat CL by
Tavish Muldoon
Hello!
I have a used 92 Passat CL with no drivers manual anymore. The fuel
opening area say 87 Octane is fine, but premium fuel is preferred.
I assume there must be some knock sensor to detect grades of fuel?
Is there any benefit to using premiun (91,92,93 or 94) octane vs. 87
in this model of...

Kids are fat enough without stuffing their gobs while in the car. Get out
and walk their fat asses to a table.
Most newer seats are perforated for comfort's sake. This makes for a lot...

Passat transmission sport code by
phill magnuson
I have a 99 Passat V6 w/ auto transmission. Is there a way to program
the transmission so that it is always in "sport" mode? supposedly the
transmission will go into "sport" mode when you depress the
accelerator all the way. I just don't want it to go back to "normal"
mode.
Thanks,

Flywheel Timing Mark by
[email protected]
Look at valves to see both are closed in cylinder 1. Remove all spark
plugs. Stick large screwdriver in cylinder 1 when you see it is close
to the top. Rotate slowly one way to see it peak and start to drop
back down. Rotate back the other way to see it peak again. If you do
this correctly you will...

Sorry, I don't have data for the A4, as the german VW homepage of

Again, there's no 1.8 turbo in the A5 yet, but the 150HP FSI should...
