Trickle Charging a C7 battery by
Smarty
Having owned C5 and C6 convertibles which have been stored for the
winter, I have become accustomed to using a trickle charger directly
connected to the battery for many years. The rest of the car has been
disconnected and only the trickle charger has been connected to the battery.
The new C7...

Question: C6, Manual vs. Automatic by
LR
Ok, these may be a silly questions, but here it goes:
I'm looking at a new C6 and I'm debating between a six speed automatic and a
six speed manual.
My current Vette (an '80 that I'm keeping) is an automatic. It's fun to
drive and the two that I've owned have been automatics.
The use will be...

Help justifying a vette by
Windad
Hi folks
Need a little advice. Just retired this year, and I feel the pull to buy a
vette. Thinking about a C5, maybe a Z06.
Owned a '65 way back in the early 70's. Wonderful car that was stolen and
totalled. Never got it out of my system.
So perhaps it's time to try again.
But here is the...

The CARS thing -- Couldn't do it! by
pj
Lesson on how we get brain softened by our cars.
Years ago my daughter said, "Dad, I love my
car." I was hard-hearted and told her that
loving a car was nonsense. After all, it's just
iron and paint. Don't ever fall in love with a car!
Our Chevy dealer keeps everything in a database
and...

Which One? by
Brian[_30_]
Hi
Just wanted to get some opinions on which of these would be better in
the long run. I'm planning on keeping and driving it for a while -
probably years.Would the C4 be better because of the lower mileage, or
would the newer C5 hold up well, since it won't be long before it
turns over 100. Are...

How to get that wonderful exhaust sound ?? by
Smarty
I upgraded from a C5 Corvette convertible to a new C6 convertible, and
find the improvements to be mostly positive, but with one major
exception.
The exhaust sound of my prior convertible had a wonderful mellow, gutsy
sound, very much like what you would expect from a sports car.
The newer C6 is...

Corvette C5 Insurance and extended warranty by

Was just curious if other C5 Corvette owners could share with me how
much they pay yearly for Insurance on their vettes.
Also wanted to know the best place to buy an extended warranty for a C5
after the factory/dealer warranty runs out....apart from the GM
warranty.
I recently went to Great...

American Collectors Insurance question. by
Dad
American Collectors Insurance, does anyone have a good or bad feeling about
their worth. I was quoted a price of about 25% of what my insurance company
is charging me now for my 1972. Very nearly the same coverage, based out of
Cherry Hill NJ, the NJ is almost enough to scare me off. ;-]
Yes, I'm...

Picture of a C5 with a '57 front end tail section by
BGRich77
Does any know where I can find pictures of this car? It was a white C5
with the front end and tail section of a '57 Corvette. I can not seem to
locate it anymore as I stumbled across it last year. I can not seem to
find the correct combination of words to use in the search box. Thank
you.

AC recharge on a C3 by
JR
I need my AC recharged on my 1980. Do I switch over to the new stuff. Or try
like hell to find someone to put the original r-12 back into the system.
Heard their is an oil incompatibility issue by putting the new stuff in an
old system even if it has been vacuumed out?
Thanks

C5 Questions by
Larry Wallerstein
I droppped my C6 spot and purchased a C5 built on 6/21. I've put the Corsa
Indy Pace Tigersharks on it, so far. Coupe.
I'd like to increase the horsepower to the C6 numbers, and I am told this
can be done with a Nightwing, or other front air induction change with K&N
and a "chip" for the...

Wheels for 86 vs 96 ZR1 by
Raymond Prince
The wheels on my 86 are 16 inch and tires are 255 50. If I bought the 17
inch ZR1 wheels, what size tires would I need to keep the speedometer
accurate? And will these ZR1 wheels even work on the 86 model without
rubbing the body or frame?
Thank You
