OK - New to Acuras - Got some noob type Questions by
T
Hello everybody.
My buddy picked up an 88 Integra, 5 door. Nice car. Some Questions:
- What digit in the VIN verifies the Model Year? (It was built in January.)
- If this thing _is_ an 88 then the motor in it is a 1.6 D16A1, right?
Yes, No, Maybe?

Old factory alarm on Concerto: disable? by
Jay
Hi,
This is for a 1994 Concerto, RHD. The handset has finally given
up(buttons damaged) and I don't have a spare. I am able to operate the
alarm by shorting out the contacts. Is there a manual override or
another way of disabling the alarm? The car is old, so it is not worth
the cost of a new...

The numbered pics were taken before I started the job. I had plans of
adding this to the FAQ, but due to the intensity of this job, I decided to
just concentrate on doing it right.
Notice the heavy grease coating on the pictures of the compensator...

Onboard diagnosis interface - reading ECU data? by
Thorsten Ostermann
Hi!
Has anyone experience with reading sensor values (e.g. lambda, speed,
temperature) from the ECU via the diagnosis interface? For cars
manufactured in 2000 and later, this interface is a standard called
OBD-2. But what about older Honda cars? Many VWs are OBD-2 compliant,
even if manufactured...

One more question on transmission fluid by
maumee
I read the recent post on using the Honda specific transmission fluid.
I have a 1995 Accord EX with automatic and the owners manual states
to use Dextron II or the Honda fluid. Should I still put out the big
bucks and get the Honda stuff or what? I would like someone more
knowledgeable than me to...

One other Legend question: oxygen sensor by
Ryan Biggs
Hi guys,
Thanks for the group's input on ball joint issues. The tool store that
will be helping me with that also has something else I'll need: an
oxygen sensor socket. As best as I can guess without having a socket
that can get to it, it looks like a standard 7/8" (22mm). Does this
sound...

Only high beams work on '98 Odyssey by
Doug B
A while back, the low beams quit working on my '98 Odyssey. I checked
the obvious -- wiggled the connectors and looked for a blown fuse (I
didn't see a separate fuse for high and low beams). Is there anything
else I can check before assuming the hi/low switch is broken?
