2000 Buick lesabre ABS & traction light by BLB
Brake job was done on the car. Now once the car is put in gear, and starts down the road, the ABS light comes on at the top of the gauge area, and the TRACTION OFF light comes on at the left of the gauge area. Was a code set by replacing the brake pads & rotors? If so, How do I erase it?

A/C fan not working on 2000 Sienna by J
My 2000 Sienna's front A/C fan is not working properly. There are four fan speeds on the dial and the first three are not working (no fan movement at all). The highest speed works so it is not the fan motor. A/C is working fine and the Rear fan is working fine too. My guess is to change the Front...

Does speed-shifting blow up engines? (Little problem) by frank wight
I took my dad's old dump truck out into the field and managed to get the rear wheels spinning at 70 mph-- while standing still. Trouble is, the rear tires got traction and the whole truck got airborne--- leaping and jumping across the meadow. It really was a handful, trying to regain control.

1990 240 wagon running hot?? by lolo
Hello, my 1990 240 DL wagon's temperature gauge gets up near the red zone after idleing on a hot day for 20 minutes or so. I have flushed out the coolant, and after suspecting there was an air bubble in there, tried to "burp" it through the upper radiator hose, but it was completely full of...

are all engines the same? by Jizzosh[_1_]
Alright, here's what I'm getting at: currently, the car I'm driving before I get my liscense is an in-line 4 cylinder. Now, just say that each cylinder has a displacement of .5 liters for each type of 4 cylinder(v, inline, boxer etc.), would they all have the same RPM? Or does the crankshaft have...

95 ford taurus---power steering pump by dawnettie[_1_]
I recently purchased a 95 ford taurus and as I was checking the fluids, the power steering fluid looks like muddy water. Isnt it supposed to be a milky beige color? what would cause this and how would I drain it out? also when you pull the steering wheel all the way over, there is a whining sound....

91 Maxima idles low and has NO acceleration by jben
I just bought a 1991 Nissan Maxima V6 3.0L (VG30E) automatic at a charity auction and it's had this problem ever since. When I can get it to start, it idles very low and when I step on the accelerator, almost nothing happens....the tach just twitches a little. Same story when I move the throttle...

Good soap to clean car oil & grease from hands by j
I've always used Lava or scouring powder to scrub the oil and grease from my hands after working on a car. However, I recently bought several bars of soap at a garage sale that strips oil & grease off immediately and does not leave my hands dry of natural body oil. The soap is called "Don Maximo"....

Using a duty cycle meter to measure wind resistance by Old Wolf
I know a guy who wanted to determine the optimal speed for his car, to avoid wasting gas due to wind resistance from going unnecessarily fast. He attached a duty cycle meter to one injector, and then set his car to cruise control at various speeds (presumably on a flat road and no wind), and noted...

V5 compressor seal replacement by Bob Urz
My 1996 S10's V5 compressor seems to have a bad seal behind the clutch. I evacuated it and added one can of R134a and it was trying to work. (did not add any more R134 until i was sure it was not leaking) But when i shut it off, i could hear the constant hiss in the area of the compressor clutch...

My 1993 Aerostar (170,000 miles) rack & pinion has been leaking power steering fluid for quite a while. I plan on replacing it with an Autozone or Checker rebuilt assembly and since the suspended wheel has play when shook, the outer tie rod ends for both front wheels at the same time. I do have...

Casey Jones You Better Watch Your Speed by [email protected]
Work = Force X Distance. So obviously it takes more force to drive faster in a car, and the same distance is traveled regardless of how fast you are going. So if we reduce the speed limits we will save money and gas!!!!
