Tire Chains by
John C.
I've been looking at tire chains for the Cobra.
I really can't be bothered with snow tires, what with swapping on and off
and storage. It's very rare that I even get caught in a storm so I just want
something that will let me _move_ over snow, if need be.
The impetus for this purchase was a...

'05 GT Spinout by
John B.
Doing about 70 to 75 in the rain on the interstate Saturday, the rear-end of
my 2005 GT gave way and I spun out. Fortunately, I missed the right side
guardrail, but the car did a complete 180 and hit hard on the base of a rock
formation. Very hard. I thought for sure the whole right side was...

Need Advice by
Jim C[_2_]
I have an 89 LX 5.0 convertible 5 spd. I'm having a problem, and
wanted some advice, and maybe a pep talk. I'm trying to keep this car
running, on a tight budget, with a kid in college, and another in
private school...
Here's the problem: I have no heat, and a low coolant level.
Everytime I top...

215,000 by
dwight[_1_]
Another small milestone for TFrog today... 215,000 miles. And hardly broken
in.
Another rough inspection, too - new cat-back exhaust, 4 new tires, swapped
in a used AC compressor, replaced a leaking power steering hose. But at
least it now has defrosters going into the winter season and fresh...

Republican Senator Admits Opposition to Auto Bill is All About UNION

Why were Wall Street workers not asked for concessions?
Autoworkers stepped up to the plate to save the car industry. White-

when financial...

GM and Chrysler get the 1st installment on their bailout by
[email protected]
In a move which should finally erase the Mainstream Media myth that
Pres. Bush is any kind of conservative, he and his fourth branch of
government (that would be Treasury Secty. Henry Paulson and his
$350,000,000,000 slush fund) have done what Congress had voted not to
do: throw $13,400,000,000 of...

Only in my dreams - so far by
Dick R.
I guess I watch Speed TV too much, and think about a complete
auto restoration/modification on my 84 Mercury Capri 5.0.
The car is in nice original condition with less than 70K miles,
but a 428 with a turbo or a blower sticking through the hood
would be better. A complete frame off restoration and...

Republicans
Even the Republicans' sense of political self-interest seems dimmed by
their
anti-union zealotry. Senate Republicans may think they gain political

Torque converter early lock up by
JSB
I have a '01 GT that has the shudder problem, i.e. the TC lock up engages
too early. Any ideas how to fix it? Is there an easy way to get the PCM
updated so that it engages only at higher speed/RPMs? Advice is much
appreciated.

photography skills. "Only 50K on the car", as evident by its superb
condition.

Best no BS motor oil/filter comparison? by
HiC
I see opinions of the "I swear by" type all over the map. Anyone know
of a good site that shows the truth about which brand/type of oil &
filter performs the best? Thinking in the passenger car realm.
Thanks

Future of Ford by

If the administration of Ford were interested in ensuring the future of this
automotive company, wouldn't it make sense for them to voluntarily take a
pay cut in an effort to make Ford sustainable. I realize that going from
