There are 4 very handsom men in a new Volkswagen Golf TDI. The men were traveling west down I70, one of them happens to be asleep for the past 5 hours. All 4 of these men had drivers licenses. As they were passing through Colorado they got stoped by a state trooper for going 110 miles per hour...

Stop the Connecticut Cell Phone Ban by Interpage Network Services Inc.
I'm not sure if it has been mentioned here or not yet (a cursory glance at the recent threads didn't turn up anything), but last Thursday eve, 6/2/2005, the CT State Senate voted in favor of a ban on the use of cellphones while driving unless a headset is worn. It has been reported that Gov. Rell...

fighting a ticket for running a stop sign by hi
I got a ticket for running a stop sign and am thinking about contesting it using the Trial by Written Declaration thing. I'm trying to figure out if I have a valid argument or not. Here is what happened: "There was a large construction vehicle parked just a few yards in front of the stop sign...

They are finally replacing all the crappy concrete highways which have plagued our city (Richmond VA) for decades with asphalt! I am sure someone must have blown someone to have gotten that horrible concrete **** put down in the first place. The crews working all night every night patching holes...

Perspective Regarding Gas Prices by Scott en Aztlán
In inflation-adjusted dollars, crude oil cost over $80/barrel and gasoline was over $3/gallon for regular. You can all STFU now about how expensive gasoline is. :)

"ICE" contact... by Brent P
Instead of any useful information, this weekend the signs on chicago area expressways had the following message: PUT AN "ICE" CONTACT ON YOUR CELL PHONE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. Anyone know what this means or have a clue why it supplanted any useful traffic info?

10 gb worth of driving... by Ulf
I finally got around to try to record a little of my driving using my laptop and a webcam, per Scott's suggestion. Can't say it worked great, although it was in part my 200 MMX laptop's (running XP Pro) fault which wasn't quite fast enough. The other problems were ****ty sound quality and mounting...

octane in gas- does knock damage the engine? by Magnulus
My brother drives an old Volvo automatic and he complains about only getting 19 mpg, and not the 20-22 the EPA rating gives. Yet he only uses 87 octane, and I'm pretty sure that an 84 Volvo ran on higher octane (91?). So my guess is that it has an anti-detonation sensor to prevent engine knocking....

Hi, I live in Boston, and don't use my car that much such that I was wondering if there is a way to put it in storage for a year or so, and at the same time not have it registered or pay insurance. I have relatives in NY and so could use this address. Does the law allow for this? If insurance...

That's one of the great MFFYs. Like selfish scum that get lost in the woods and start a forest fire to attract attention. PS - that's assuming this gal is telling the truth. Story sounds very piscene.
