Vent window seal replacement by
azazel scratch
Fellow air-cooled drivers,
While replacing the outside scraper on my '74 Super Beetle I damaged the
vent window seal. I have to replace it and need to know if the vent window
has to be removed first. If so, how do I remove the vent window?
Thanks in advance

Towing question by
LI Dave
I know this isn't strictly aircooled VW related, but I figured some of
you must have run into this. I'm looking at a parts car that is
towable. I'd rather not pay for a flatbed and I haven't found a friend
with a car trailer just yet. So, is it legal to tow an unregistered
car with a...

Bad idle / missing by
Spike[_1_]
Hi,
Any pointers would be really appreciated as I'm pretty much flummoxed!
I have a 68' Type1 1500cc. It has been off the road a good few years, and
only been back in use for a month or so. I'm still pretty unfamiliar with
VW engines so am learning as I go.
I noticed a slight loss of power /...

Correct Bumpers for early 67 by
No Name
I have two 1967 Type 2s that I've owned for thirty years or so. I'm
planning to sell one, and want to see if I have enough of the correct
bumpers to put a set on each.
So, my question to the group - Slash or Pointed?
Thanks,
Jeff
P.S. I'm selling a 1967 Double Cab in fair condition...located...

Adjusting a lowered front end by
Terry[_4_]
I have a 65 VW that has had the adjusters installed on the front axle
tubes. I would like to drop it about another inch but not sure how. Is
anyone familiar with this setup that could tell me how ? I have the
lowered shocks on it already but am not sure if you adjust the top or
bottom adjuster....

Tiny bit of resto work - pictures by
Shag
I wanted to get rid of some of the surface rust so I broke out the
drill with a wire brush wheel, some sandpaper, some white Rustoleum
rattle-can paint and some chrome rattle-can paint. Personally I think
the Rustoleum white looks better than the cheesy chrome and am
thinking seriously of painting...

Trouble starting type 1 - 73 Super Beetle Conv. by
Mark[_21_]
I'm having difficulty trouble shooting this - any help is appreciated,
Cold start
Push gas peddle once and release (to set auto choke)
Car starts but quickly dies (car use to fire up first time)
If repeated it will eventually start and runs fine.
Also, I've notice the dashpot is slighlty damaged....

Brakes - silly me by
John Boy
Replaced the master cylinder. And came up with a cute trick for doing it
alone - ya know, can't hold the cylinder in place while inside the cab
(and didn't want to attach the lines before doing so).
Anywho, silly me but the blue hose pieces that bridge between the steel
tubes on the fluid...
