C5 wiper motor by enilc
Hello all, Strange problem with my '99. Recently had it in the shop to have a headlight motor replaced. Since then, my wipers come on randomly (with no use of wiper control). It seems to be when some kind of "G-force" occurs (braking, extreme acceleration, hard turn, etc). The wipers will kick...

Build Quality and GM Concern for Customers by Mack
I have been thinking about getting a vette for a looong time and thought it's finally time. The C6 seems to have fewer build problems than any predecessor and looks great to me. However, the problems with the fly-away tops, GM's evident slow and sloppy response to the problem, and dubious...

C5 Fog lamp accesss? by Keith
I have a problem with my right (passenger side) fog lamp. It keeps going out, but when I ask the service guys to replace the lamp, they tell me the lamp is OK, there's just a short in there, and they've "fixed" it. This just keeps happening, so I need to get in there and fix it myself. How do I...

Little Help by Hockeyguy
I just placed new rims on my 1999 vette - and replaced the tire pressure sensors in the rims. Now after driving it around most of the weekend - All I see on the message console is SERVICE TIRE MON SYS. I dread the dealership - is there some kind of magic I need to get these sensors...

Ping Dad by Anon
Hi Dad. Can a set of golf clubs fit in the back of a C5? I think a club is what, about 45" long or so? I want to learn to play golf; and am wondering if a set fits in a corvette or not. Thanks in advance for your advice. Happy 4th to you and the rest of our AAC group. --...

Buying a `75 tomorrow by unix-freak
I came across what looks like a pretty good deal - a `75 for 5500.00. It has a few issues that should be minor. The tach doesn't work, there's a steering leak from the car sitting and it could probably use some paint. Besides that, is there anything that I should be looking for with this car? I'm...

Factory Recall on 06 corvettes by No here No Now
I was at the dealer ship two weeks ago when some freinds asked me to come out to the shop of the dealership where my truck was being worked on. There I saw not one but three corvettes missing the skin on the roof it had blown off while driving down the road. If you own an 06 and you hear a roof...

2006 Z06 Pace Car question by Scubabix
I got to go to the Pepsi 400 in Daytona yesterday and now I have a question. Is it common for a track to use the same pace car for different races? The Z06 used in the Daytona 500 was the same car, with different stickers as the one used last night. I just surprised me to see it used...

1970 blower fan speed Heater/A-C by Golf
The top speed on my blower fan does not appear to be blowing air at the maximum speed. The force of the air seems to be marginal. I have replaced the blower motor with a heavy duty version, rebuilt condensor box, all new seals and tubes so there are no leaks. I have replaced the electronic relay...

Bullet Hole by PJ
Picked up a bullet hole in the driver's door after dinner last evening. Looks like it was an aft to forward glancing hit, a gouge about 1.75 inches long by 5/8 inch high. Depth micrometer shows max depth of 2mm. Some gray discoloration, probably lead, in the plastic substrate along the bottom of...
