1997 SW1 A/C commpressor replacement by
Billycat[_2_]
I was wondering if anyone here could help. I need to replace the A/C
compressor on my SW1 and I am trying to locate the dryer unit but it
seems to be tucked away somewhere that I can't see from looking down
under the hood. Can anyone tell me where this is located? Even better,
is there any websites...

1998 Saturn SL1 Coolant Leak/Bad Piston Sleeve by
[email protected]
Hello:
My son's Saturn was losing antifreeze and I was afraid it was going
into the engine oil. A trip to the local GM dealer (nearest Saturn
dealer is 240 miles and I didn't want to drive it this far) revealed
coolant in the oil.
They thought it was a head gasket so they replaced it but it is...

94 SL odometer by
Terry Mosley
While driving my '94 SL, the odometer quit working. The speedometer still
works and there is no SES light or codes stored. After scanning over the
schematic it appears there is only one speed sensor and the signal is
supplied to the PCM, then to the instrument cluster. Question....which is

brake pedal to floor after bleeding by
wieldymouse
I recently changed the pads on the front of an SL2. When I went to test
drive it, the pedal ad little pressure, but the car would stop. I thought
maybe I needed to bleed it. After doing that, the pedal has absolutely no
pressure and the brakes don't work at all. Can someone help me out here?

Awesomely Scary! FACES OF DEATH VCD for Halloween! by
HALLOWEEN!
For the uninitiated, the original Faces of Death is by far the most
controversial film to date. For this Halloween, watch the real thing. It is
extremely graphic in nature, and most definitely NOT for those with weak
stomachs. This film has more gore and carnage than Jason and Freddy
COMBINED. It...

Clutch Replacement Expense on SW1 & SW2 by
[email protected]
I just spoke to the shop manager at a Saturn dealer here in town
(Columbus, OH) and he said that SW1 & 2 clutches are very durable but
extremely expensive to replace. He said that "you need to take the
transmission apart" and quoted something like $1,300 for the job!
Is this really a typical...

Greetings and my SL1 vs SL2 dilemma by
Frank
Hi all. I am new to this list and have a question.
I have a 1992 SL1 which has been a good car overall. It has about 180000km
and is in good working order except for the head gasket which has been
leaking for about 2 years. I had planned on replacing this car, so never
have had this fixed. The...

R134a service ports - thread? by
Philip Nasadowski
Does anyone know what the tread on the A/C service ports (R-134a) is?
I'm looking to stick a bolt to plug a leak in mine, because the %^#$%^$%
service valve is leaking again! >:( I figure a bolt or something in
there will at least slow, if not totally stop the leak..

weeks might go by with no problems and then it happens. I rotate the steering
wheel to
relieve the locking mechanism pressure but still nada. I can put the key in

I have a 1998 SL1 SOHC that is not passing the "check engine light"
portion of the CA smog test. I got it from a charitable organization
with about 135k miles on it. The mechanic for the organization
installed a new water pump and catalytic converter, and reconnected a
sensor that was causing...

Saturn Performance Club's 8th annual rally - photos and video by
Lane
I've just finished up the write-up from our eighth annual rally which took
place from July 27 - 31, 2005. Just when I think they can't get any better
from one year to the next, they do. Thanks to everyone who made the effort
to show up and join in on the activities.
I've added 14 pages and...
