Experience at Honda dealer by
pichula
I went last week to a Honda dealer to trade in my car for a new Accord
Value Pack (VP, base model). I was surprised by all their tactics to
get the most out of my money. I don't blame the salesperson because he
was nice and helpful, but I think the sales manager went a little too
far in his...

With the multi-function switch in the OFF position; wipers run on low
speed. Will not shut off at all. Have to turn ignition off to stop
wipers. Wipers will stop at any point on the windshield when ignition is
turned off. Have to have pulled the fuse to stop...

Is starter going out? by
brett
I have a '92 Civic EX. Sometimes the engine will turn a while before
the car finally starts. This doesn't ever seem to happen when the car
is cold. I can go into the grocery store for a few minutes, come out,
try to crank the car and it just turns for about 5 seconds or more.
Sometimes I stop...

Decode 2004 Civic VIN by
Tegethoff
Need to know where I can decode the VIN of 2004 Civics. Have tried the
usual search engines but they only give me general information. Any site
or source would be much appreciated.
Thanks

2003 Accord 4door I4 5AT just developed CHECK ENGINE P0685 by
Tony Harding[_5_]
I'm not totally new to Hondas, but this code is totally new to me. CEL
light came on Sun afternoon and I had the code read out at a local
Autozone. Should I reset it and see if it reoccurs? Check anything out?
Or just get it to the dealer ASAP? (my local Honda dealer is good and I
have no...

How many Hondas have you owned? by
Dave Garrett
I recently got to thinking about the Hondas I've owned and how the cars
have changed over the years. When I bought my first one, Hondas had a
well-earned reputation for high reliability and economy coupled with
innovative engineering. I still have trouble believing that a top-of-
the-line Civic...

My Si has a DX motor! by
Dave Garrett
I think I posted about this when my timing belt was changed a couple of
years ago; the short version was that my usual mechanic told me after
he'd finished the work that he thought my 90 CRX Si had a 1.5L engine
instead of the usual 1.6, because the timing belt for a 1.6 didn't fit,
but the...

mail order parts by
Ed Overly
Anyone having good luck with mail order Honda parts? I ordered four
oil filters and a bulb from Majestic Honda for a total of $20.82.
Then they charged me $4.95 for handling and $8.22 for freight. I
thought this was pretty outrageous! I called Hparts recently and they
didn't answer the phone.

I broke off my Oxygen sensor by
Danny Beardsley
In the process of trying to replace my O2 (Oxygen) sensor on my 1993
honda civic EX, I broke the old one off. I tried some usual stuff,
knocking it with a hammer, liberal WD-40, running the car for a bit to
heat up the manifold. Anyway, TINK! it broke. Any suggestions?
Two pictures of the...

Route 23 Honda - NJ - Where is the SERVICE??? by
[email protected]
My tape player broke on my 2005 Pilot. I have been at Rt23 almost every
other day for the past week. They keep saying it is fixed and I keep
having to proove it has not. I had to take time off from work to come
in and show them that the problem is still there.
The courtesy car was given to me with...

Who has done their own timing belt change... by
bob
Accord, 2000, V6, vtec.
This job looks to be pretty big and complex. Obviously one should also
do the water pump once inside there too. Does the Honda service and
repair manual do a good job in outlining this job?
I've done timing chains on big American V8's, but I think thats a...

'90 Civic: Extremely sluggish low-end acceleration, poor fuel economy by
Bruce
A few more issues from my poor little car for anyone who can shed some
light...
My '90 5-spd Civic Ex has been bogging down at low RPMs since I bought
it last fall. When I accelerate from a dead stop I have to goose it to
about 2500rpm and then pop the clutch a bit to get it to take off as
quick...

V vs H Rated Michellin's by
Dick[_1_]
It's time for some new shoes for my '03 Accord V-6. I know people on
this usenet group are not all that fond of the OEM Michellin Energy
MVX4 91V tires, but I have been happy with them. Good snow and wet
pavement performance, quiet and good mileage. That's good enough for
me. I buy my tires at...

2000 Civic LX hard to start, no spark at all. by
Alan Russell
My wifes Honda won't start when it's been sitting for 6 hours or so.
I hesitate to call it cold, as we live in South Florida and it does
this when it's 95 degrees out, but it technically is a 'cold start'
issue.
So here is what I've done. Attache a FI pressure test guage. As soon
as I turn the...

Doing my own brakes (97 Accord) - need some advice by
[email protected]
I am a handy guy (engineering background) and I do quite a bit of my
own work on my car (oil changes, electrical repairs, etc). I am
considering doing my own brake work. With the miles I put on my car
each year, I am servicing both front and rear brakes annually at a
cost of close to $800. I know...

green antifreeze in my 93 civic by
Robert Reynolds
I've been following the thread on Honda brand antifreeze, and I noticed
the comments about Prestone not belonging in a Honda.
I noticed green antifreeze in my 93 civic that I bought from a friend
recently. What potential hazards am I dealing with? What's the best
way to get it all out if I'm...
