Need opinions by ZRexRider
My daughter has a 99 acura integra. I noticed the mileage the other day and told her it was time to get the timing belt replaced. She found a place near her home, had the belt replaced and on the way home heard terrible screaching. Stopped car and had it towed back to dealer. She didn't even...

Throwout bearing? Noise? by ray
86 GMC S15 4x4, 2.8, 5 speed, 280,000km. (around 175,000 miles) Owned it for 5 years, was stolen and the engine blown before I bought it, so I don't know how old the clutch is. (don't know if the place that swapped the engine did the clutch or not.) I have a teeny hydraulic leak in the clutch...

1990 Ford F150 questions by papadad
Hi, I have a couple questions on a 1990 Ford F150 straight 6 with auto transmission. Two questions 1. how do I drain/flush/change the transmission fluid. Is it as simple as removing a bolt from the tranny, draining, and refilling? Also, presume I need a new tranny filter too? And how many...

1992 Suzuki Swift, about a year back the fan stopped working at all but the max speed. I was fine with that because I had heat, the other day it stopped working entirely. I checked the fuses and their was a 15amp blown, so I changed that and it worked again. Now it has stopped working totally and...

99 F150 V8 Check Engine Light by [email protected]
I drove through some standing water and the engine started missing and the check engine light came on. After a day, the electrical system must've dried out because it's running smooth, but the light has to be reset. The Ford garage wants $82 just to reset the light. At that price, it's not going...

96 Nissan Sentra... Bolts off but I can't get head off.... by Al Kondo
I am trying to remove the head on my 96 Sentra with a 1.6 liter engine, and 120k miles. I have an overheating problem and I have determined that a leaking head gasket was the cause. I plan to bring the head to my machinist to check it out. I have all of the bolts off the head as indicated on...

91 Colt 200 again....door problem this time! by Son of Sam
I've been having problems with my drivers side door for the last couple months. The door kept lowering and lowering on the frame and it got harder and harder to close. Just lately, after a friend drove my car, the door dropped a lot because I had forgotten to tell him about the problem so he must...

Clutch woes, burning the discs? by Masospaghetti
My family has three cars - a 2003 Civic EX, a 1989 CRX Si, and a 1985 Corolla SR5 - that are all 5 speeds. However, the clutches aren't lasting very long in any of them. They give identical symptoms, a vibration or shimmy as the clutch plate is grabbing. Once the clutch is engaged, its fine and...

Steering wheel shimmy on CRX by Masospaghetti
Have a 89 CRX Si, and have an odd problem. At moderate to high speeds, the steering wheel will shimmy really bad, but its not always consistant, and its worse under acceleration. I was leaning towards a bad suspension bit. Anyone know what this could be? Thanks!

2000-2003 wagons or vans by Jayebea
Happy new year! I am planning to shop for a used wagon or van, but I have major problem. It concerns length of the vehicle. I have to find something 175 inches or less (not too much less!) because I live in an older hillside area with narrow driveways and old fashioned garages. Anything longer...
