Removing EGR on FI Bug by Mel P.
The system probably doesn't work. If I remove it and plug up all the openings will there be any consequences on engine performance or operation? -- Mel 77 Revived Bug & 70 Ghia Cabriolet www.geocities.com/mpernice PARTS FOR SALE: http://www.geocities.com/njvwclub

Does this price sound good for tranny work? by KWW
My back has been really bad for the past few months so I have not been driving my bug... because it needs some tranny work and I don't think I am currently up to it... got a quote for a local bug place to do the work... wondered if it sounds good: on Swingaxle '65: 1) Replace the front tranny...

Antique plate question by Remco
In CT our antique or "early american" plates limit the value of a car to $500. There is no useage limit here. Clearly limiting the value of a car to $500 makes insurance and tax inexpensive as well, but am wondering what happens in case of an accident: Clearly, a love tap by a buick will total the...

Recycling, re-using DP heads by Mel P.
I have my old DP heads I replaced a couple of years ago. Is there any way to test or inspect them to see if they are good or rebuildable? I had replaced them thinking I had a bad valve. Not really sure... While I was removing my 2 yr. old head, I cracked it (that's another story). Is it...

How to fix a stripped spark plug? by Earl Brown
I lost a plug today. That explains the bad mileage this last week. But I'm in a tight spot - I need my daily driver. Could someone give me a link to a "how to fix it" site? Thanks! Earl

Trouble starting my T3 after running. by Gambini
Well, I have a problem with my bus. I have a 1981 Transporter and after Ive driven it for a while, turn it off, then go to start it again, it just cranks over and over. I had a guy say it was vapor lock. Also, the fuel pump could be bad. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Starting a 74 super by halcyonic88
It seems like there's quite a bit of people having starting issues. Well here's mine. If I try starting it, I don't get a click or any turning of the starter. If I have my lights on though, I do notice a drop in power to the lights. So I'm thinking that the ignition switch is ok, and that it's...

Solved stalls when return to idle by Mike Rocket J. Squirrel Elliott
I've been so busy with school and stuff that it wasn't until yesterday that I finally was able to pull the carburetor from the Wonderbus to do what everyone has urged me to do to solve the problem. Reminder: engine would intermittently and unpredictably die during return to idle. Sometimes it...

difficult to start by bug '59
Hi Ramva greetings from Holland, Finaly got the engine running fine. However, last week the car wouldn't start at all, not even 'the click' from the starter. Tried it 3 times (also no click) and all of a sudden the 4th time it started. I noticed earlier that the starter would not turn as fast as...

Rare VW sighting. by Charles @ Kankakee
I saw a VW today and it was standing still. Super Beetle in blue, recently purchased. (April of 05, guessing by the number on the plate and the sticker on it.) Had lots of chrome on it. I don't remember having chrome under the door handles, for instance. Looks good. Not too much rust for a...

rough valuation of karmann ghia? by carlivar
Anyone got a rough idea what a very well restored 1967 Karmann Ghia convertible should go for? California car most, if not all, of its life so no rust whatsoever and great shape. Rebuilt original engine. Perfect new interior. Seems like about $10k would be the upper limit... do Ghias ever sell...
