63 roadster emergency brake cable replace? by

While setting the parking brake the handle came off in my hand. The end of
the cable broke at the handle. I bought an OEM cable but am unsure of how
big of a job it is to re-route thru the car back to the rear brake yoke. Any
knowledge to share about this task?

have a 250 hp. w/5500 redline. Did higher HP's have higher redlines on
tach's?
2] I live in Calif. and would like to get the old black and yellow plates

Successful run home in rebuilt C2/ Rings seated? by

I had a good 2-day run on the back roads south from Wash. state to N.Calif.
Labor Day weekend with my son in my 63 Roadster. We left without approx. 400
mi. on motor and arrived with about 1350 mi. It was tight at about 3700 rpm.
when pulled out and was tight at about 4500 when arrived home....

I now have approx. 1500 mi on total re-build (block was bored, new rings,
seals, etc.) and still blowing smoke out exhaust when accelerating from
stop. The machine shop that did the boring and supplied the parts for the

I am replacing the exhaust system on my 63 SB with a system from Zip or CC.
Has anyone knowledge of opinion on the mufflers that are included in those
deals. I had glass packs on before and I liked the sound they emitted. Do
the OEM style have any tone to them or are they just a vanilla part?...

and had some big fun. We pulled the drivetrain and stripped the 250hp 327
down to the bare block the first day. There is a small ridge in the

While applying the park brake some time ago, the handle pulled off the
cable. Is there a reliable repair for that end of the cable or is it replace
only? I notice the cable is not an inexpensive part. It won't add too much
to my project total cost, so if it's only a temporary fix, I'll bite...

Ammeter gauge nervous on 63 by

The ammeter gauge bounces around at idle, but settles down as rpm's
increase. Would a new capacitator calm it down? The alternator is putting
