65 tire recommendations by
bad65
My 65 currently has 215-65-15 Michelin Pilot XGT V4's on AR Torq Thrust D's.
The suspension is a Vette brakes Performance Plus system with front and rear
glass springs. I installed the TT's to add a classic look to the car.
Because of the backspacing and the spacer required to run the TT's, I had...

C5 tire replacement non-runflat by
bad65
Any suggestions on a non-runflat tire for a C5?
I'm not thrilled with the feel and sound of the Goodyear runflats and would
like to change. I hear some good reports about the performance of the
Michelin's, but every Michelin I have owned has died of fatigue (sidewall
cracking) before the tread...

Oil pressure gauge in '67/427 by
Barking Rats
My '67 427/390 only has a 60 lb max figure on the oil pressure gauge. As
I recall, a '65 327/300 I used to own had an 80 lb gauge (might have
been a 90#... it's been 20 years since I sold the car).
My reason for asking is that when accelerating it's pretty easy to peg
or nearly peg the needle at...

Octane boost brand by
Barking Rats
'67, 427/390 hp, 10.25:1 compression
Anyone have info on the octane boost products out there? There's a fair
range of pricing - $5-$12 to treat 20 gal - but little real info on the
product packaging.
This last tank I went with NOS (the nitrous oxide co.) "Street" formula
octane booster. The box...

High Gas Prices: Will it affect Corvette Collectability by
Barking Rats
What do you think the future holds for the classics in value and demand
when gas tops $3, $4 or $5 per gallon? If we are indeed near or past the
peak oil and are headed in another fuel direction in the next 15,20,
plus years, will a majority of these cars drop substantially in demand
(and value)?...

How long have you owned your current Corvette? by
Barking Rats
Just out of curiosity, I'd like to hear how long folks have owned their
current Corvette.
To start the ball rolling, I bought my '67 from a PA State Trooper going
through a divorce in '79. Wow, hard to believe it's been 26 years we've
been together - lasted longer by far than *his* marriage. :)...

1987 Gas Gauge empty at a quarter tank.... by
Bart
My gas gauge reads a little over a quarter tank when it runs dry.
Anyone know how to easily fix it? My mechanic says it could get
expensive fast, so leave it alone.
Thanks.

1980 Corvette by
Bart Fitzpatrick
I recently to my 1980 Corvette to cottman transmission and they replaced the
clutch assy throughout bearing and pressure plate. The shaved the Fly wheel
said that was normal. When I picked up the car on Friday I had a low end
vibration when letting out the clutch. CT says there is something in...
