2007 320i - Good Buy ? by
Fritzables
As a Product Consultant I spend a lot of time driving hire cars to and
from the various mine sites I need to visit.
The last time I traveled I was granted an upgrade by the hire car
company. They presented me with a new 320i Exec.
During my 320i experience I couldn't believe what the car had to...

E46 - No Start, Lots of electricity by
Jeff Strickland
My daughter's 323 suddenly and without warning has failed to start. There is
lots of power. The key is turned to START, but there is no noise from
anywhere. I would expect to hear a relay click or something -- my Ford F150
makes all sorts of noises inside the dash from relays and such.
My...

xenons by
Mario M
I have just replaced the front right xenon light bulb on my e60 BMW. And
after I turned on the lights it was obvious that the light wasn't blue but
rather bright yellow? Now, the seller convinced me that the xenon bulb is
the same as before and that it will turn to blue after some 100 hours of...

'98 E39 strange overheating by
SunK
My 528 runs great but the temp guage will suddenly start rising and
light up the red zone in the guage - it stays that way for about a
minute at the most and then returns to normal. It may do this once or
two time I drive the car out. I have noticed that this tends to happen
on an undulating road...

Advice for servicing air impact wrench? by
John Burns
I have a Blue Point air impact wrench that's not give the sort of torque
it should, it struggles to undo wheel nuts. It's running from a decent
size air tank at 6 bar.
I plan to strip it down and degrease it then recoat all the parts with
air line grade oil. Is this the right thing to do or am I...

BMW OBDII codes and connectors by
Yousuf Khan
A friend of mine has a 5-series BMW, I think it's a 2000. We were
discussing my laptop-based OBDII/CAN code reader that I use on my own
car, and how useful it was. He said he's wary of buying one, because he
thinks he needs to get one that fits the special BMW round port in the
engine...

cold start issue with Z3 by
Tom D
Hi all. I have a '97 Z3 with the 2.8 I6. The car has about 131k miles on
it. Ever since colder weather has moved into my area (30s, 40s F), I've had
a problem when starting the car. It starts immediately and the idle jumps
above 1000 rpms. Then a few seconds later, the idle drops, the...

E39 Door Leak by
smb
I'm getting water in the rear foot wells on my 2002 E39. A search on the
web suggests that it's a common problem with the inner door seal, with a
realatively simple fix. One article suggests using 3M Super Weatherstrip
Adhesive, but I haven't been able to find a supplier in the UK. Could...

E30 power windows wiring by
Yvan
I fitted power windows to my '87 E30 from a wrecked car. I followed
wiring diagram I have, and now I can only open or close the windows
while ignition is on.
I added fuse #17, but there is +12V (from the unloader relay K5) only
when ignition is ON.
Is this how it is suppose to be? It seems wrong...

Rough Idle, Check Engine Light Intermittent by
Vernon Balbert
I have a 1994 530i that has been running quite well in the three years
I've had it. However, recently I've been having a bit of a problem.
The car idles rough and almost dies. Then it speeds up (ostensibly the
computer is giving it gas to prevent the engine from dying) and then the
check...

Fan stops blowing by
BMWKGR
Over the past week or so, I will be driving down the road and all of a
sudden, the fan stops blowing. With or without the air conditioner,
there is no air flow. If I keep fooling around with the buttons,
eventually it will come back on and it is blowing cold. Does anyone know
what the problem...

Noise from rear my car by
[email protected]
Hi,
Just recently I've noticed a droning noise that sounds like it's
coming from the rear of my car. The frequency of the noise picks up
with speed and is unrelated to engine speed. It's not a grinding and
I can hear it pretty much all the time while I'm moving.
I've checked the tyre pressures...

1992 525i 2.5L L6 PFI DOHC 24V by
Drunkpunk
Im looking in to buying a 92 525i wit 129,000 miles on it. I was wandering if
its worth buying or is it just going to be a money pit at this point. Its a
sweet looking car but Ive never owned a bmw and am not sure what to expect as
far as engine live and overall longevity of the car. Having owned...

ABS Light and Control Unit by
T. Bokuden
I've got a '99 528 sport wagon with about 50K miles. Recently the
ABS light started coming on after 10-15 minutes. The dealership tried
replacing one of the sensors, but found it didn't fix the problem.
They are recommending replacement of the control unit. Does this make
sense?
Thanks.

Windshield: Repair or replace??? by
[email protected]
Got caught in a bad sandstorm coming back from Palm Springs last week. I
slowed to a crawl until I was out of it, but the next day I noticed my
windshield was noticably pitted/sandblasted. When driving into the sun or
lights at night, it's pretty hazy from the damage. My insurance will replace
it...

2001 530i E39 Repeated Misfire Error Codes - Limp Home by
mark barron
Car has 90,000 miles. I run with 89 octane or better almost all the
time. This was definitely true for this last incident today.
I have had the car about 13 months. The first misfire codes (Cyl #2 and
Cyl #5) occurred at fairly high revs in 2nd gear in last October. Since
them I have have

rear wheel biased awd options for a family car, station wagon or aminivan by
Squat n'Dive
What i want is this:
a station wagon or sedan with plenty of backseat legroom (my toddler
is rather long)
so that I don't have to pull the passenger front seat forward to
accomodate a child seat
(a 2 month old toddler in winter clothing does NOT fit into a rear
facing child seat)
preferably with...
